August 18, 2006

It’s a boy! Well, he is not here yet but due to modern technology (which has nothing to do with evolution) Eric and Tanya Hovind discovered yesterday that child #3 for them is a boy. After having two wonderful girls, Stephanie, soon to be 4 and Angie age 2 ½ this was exciting news for Eric and Tanya. This one will bring the total to 5 grandkids for Jo and I. All live within 100 yards and come see “grandpa” and “granny Jo” every day. What a joy! We enjoyed raising our three but this grandpa stuff is much better!

Dinosaur Adventure Land continues to have visitors every day even with school starting back last week. Our DAL home school classes begin in a few weeks so stop by the bookstore and sign up if you want to come.

Construction and remodeling will begin in a few weeks on “Camp Creation” in Ellisville, Mississippi. Call Dan Vallis, 850-479-3466 ext. 123 if you want to help. He will need painters, framers, finish carpenters, yard workers, trail blazers to clear nature trails and general grunt workers anytime over the next few months. Bring your family and stay in the dorms for a few days if you like.

Other news, the court date over the IRS battle has been moved to Oct. 17 now so keep praying please. Costs of defending ourselves against these bogus charges have been astronomical! Thank you to those who have donated to the “legal defense fund.” You can call in a credit card donation or donate on line.

Eric continues to travel and preach but nearly all my September meetings have been cancelled so if you know of any church, school or group in northern Florida that would be interested in having a creation seminar on short notice please call Marlissa at ext. 113. I must confess though that after traveling hard for 17 years the stay at home break has been great! I am getting things done on the honey do list and seeing more of my wife and family than I have in a long time.

The CSE 101-104 series has been, and continues to be, a blessing to thousands since it was taped in 1999 but now, after months of delay and technical problems, college class CS 201 is finally nearing completion. This new series has much more information to help those wanting to be better prepared to defend their faith against those who believe in evolution. Watch the web site for scores of other new products as well.

We also need a full time web master to come join the ministry team.  Call Glenda at ext 110 for an application.

All for now,

Kent Hovind

Creation Camp

Saturday, August 12th, 2006

We have located a camp in Mississippi that is ready to use (after some fixing) and for sale now.  We are going to assist a sister ministry get it and get started ASAP.  We need about $50,000 now and about the same amount over the next 6 months to get everything ready.  Our ministry will be hosting Creation Boot Camp there as well as scores of week long creation camps in the future.  We will also be putting hundreds of our duplicate museum items there on loan to help them get a Creation Museum and Creation Book Store started.  If you would like to help with artifacts or help financially in this outreach for the Lord send donations to our ministry and mark it “Creation Camp.”

The time left to serve the Lord is growing short!  It is time to pull out the stops and give our all for Christ’s kingdom!

In Christ,

Kent Hovind

Design the bus

Saturday, August 12th, 2006

Thanks for all the great ideas sunbmitted for the bus.  The judges have narrowed it down to about 6 designs but would like to extend the time to get new ideas to add to the mix.  Please send in your ideas to Glenda@drdino.com.  We will probably not spend the money on the bus until the political storm blows over in a few months so there is still time to get your ideas in.
