Said this at 8:02pm:

Christians are at war with the world constantly just as you are at war with us and you are at war with God. I find no other good reason for your continued war with words on here. So it’s a rather fitting name don’t you think? See you at eyes wide shut and say hi to your father the devil and remind him of the fire, it makes him happy to hear about the fire he’s going roast in."

Hi, CS,

I am not at war with Christians, Muslims or those of any faith - only blind ignorance of which your final comment is an exemplar.

Samphire

As you can see I don't have alot of time for answering questions.
But I will answer your question, no my handle on here does not come from the hymn, it comes from one of the verses
she used to write the hymn which is:
2 Timothy 2:3 Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.

which ofcourse hangs together with:
2 Corinthians 10:3 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh:
2 Corinthians 10:4 (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)
2 Corinthians 10:5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;

for if the true Christians warred after the flesh like the heathen Roman Catholics then all enemies would be dead by now (them Catholics aren't
very good soldiers). Sure that would make things abit easier but not near as interesting.

And also remember this spiritual verse that Lord Jesus Christ said:
Matthew 10:34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.

Christians are at war with the world constantly just as you are at war with us and you are at war with God. I find no other good reason for your continued war with words on here.
Yes, I was wondering if you would use these exact words in your response, and you did. Well, language that appears to you to be grossly skewed was and is only slightly so to me. Because you do hate personal freedom. It's all over everything you've posted so far. But, if you insist...

Very well, I will rephrase the question:
"Darling, what is it about personal liberty that you find unappealing?"

darling said:

Why do you still beat your wife?

Darling, I'll see you on that other post a bit later; given that you have announced your decision to retreat from this field of ideological battle. For now though, as you have left me the field, I'll just have the last word herein then, shall I? Very well.
Darling, you are full of smart-alecky comments and vague and likely false claims about researching the alternative sources I have cited. You still lack any shred of specifics any your rebuttal to any of my sources. What am I to conclude from that--that you bear false witness? You tell me.

And should you again refuse to answer my question about your obvious hatred of personal liberty, Darling, let me answer it for you: I submit to, Darling, that you are a socialist. Whether you know it or not, whether you would admit it even if you did know it, and whether you call it by some other euphemism, I submit you are a socialist. Fine, a collectivist then. Whatever. THIS is why you abhor personal liberty for Americans.
You are a product of the Rockefeller/Carnegie/Dewey subverted school system. The Rockefeller, Carnegie and Ford Foundations--gallingly enough as tax exempt institutions (something which should even get YOUR goat, Darling)--have for the past century paid millions upon millions of dollars toward socialist one-world causes, socialist one-world front organizations, and have given millions and millions to establish socialistic globalistic "teacher colleges", starting with Columbia U., and growing cancer-like from there to Chicago U., Berkeley, Harvard, Yale, etc--all with the idea to brainwash American teachers toward socialism at the expense of the literal original intent of the Founding Fathers' U.S. Constitution. These subverted teachers have since, for the past three or four generations, have been carrying the infection of subversion to their students, of which you are one.
How did escape the brainwashing? I'd tell you if you're interested, but I doubt you are.
Read the book "Foundations: Their Power and Influence" by Rene Wormser (he throws out there plaintively, futilely...throws his hands up, "why-botheringly"...).

Samphire,

Actually, my wife would have liked to have known the French word that looks like Shampoo actually meant permanent hair dye. 1 1/2 years later and it isn't gone yet.

Hope she doesn't read this one. I'm gonna get smacked for it.

Enjoy,

Hi, Maturekid

Thanks very much for those two definitions - I'm very grateful for your trouble.

Both words are very vivid. I'll try to slip them both into a single sentence one of these days and see if anybody notices.

Good luck with the French. The days I could read a label on a bottle in the shower, even in English, are long gone.

And I wondered why I had so few languages to my name - your wife has taken them all. Perhaps I should become a Pentecostalist and make them up as I go along. :-)

Kind regards

Samphire

"Specific, Darling, specific. No snow jobs."

said Gordon_Comstock after providing a snow job of his own. So I'll pick just a couple from the list.

"book-”The Creature from Jekyll Island” by G. Edward Griffin"

I think your post on Dec13 at 8:42pm sums up the conspiracy angle nicely.

"book-”The Federal Reserve Conspiracy and the Rockefellers” by Emmanuel Josephson"

Hmm... haven't read this particular one, but something tells me it's about the Federal Reserve *Conspiracy*

"book-”The Law that Never Was” by Bill Benson"

Asked and answered. See my post on Dec15 at 8:16am.

Feel free to address any of the specifics. I see lots of hand waving and personal attacks and reapeating your original argument and all that good stuff. But that doesn't change the fact that no court has held or will hold that the Internal Revenue Code is invalid or that the Internal Revenue Service lacks power to levy or collect income taxes.

I won't be in this thread, I'm moving on to the next one. Oh, one last thing:

Samphire,
Being able to use the phrase "conspiracy theory" in no way places you above them, or the people who actually do the research to see if the things are true or not.
Contrastly, when somebody does a knee-jerk reaction and uses that phrase so quickly, it is a pretty good indication for me of the level of brainwashing they've been subjected to by the major media disinfo grid.
Regards,
Gord

Hi Gordon,

Please excuse me but I have no wish to engage with you in anyway whatsoever or with your tediously boring and witless conspiracy theories. It’s for the same reason I no longer shop at Harrods.

Regards

Samphire,

I found the one regarding "boilerplate". The origin of it comes from the definition of boilerplate as it refers to text. Specifically, the slang is derived from "legal boilerplate".

boilerplate n., adj. slang for provisions in a contract, form or legal pleading which are apparently routine and often preprinted. The term comes from an old method of printing. Today "boilerplate" is commonly stored in computer memory to be retrieved and copied when needed. A layperson should beware that the party supplying the boilerplate form usually has developed supposedly "standard" terms (some of which may not apply to every situation) to favor and/or protect the provider.

So in terms of the sentence you provided, the "boilerplate" is all of that fluff a person has to officially say at the start of a meeting or reading of a document before getting to the details everyone cares about. Roughly put, imagine you are in a meeting that you've been in 20+ times already. It starts out the same way everytime sucking up 15 minutes. The "blah blah blah" section you've heard everytime is the "boilerplate".

Found swiftboat too.

Noun turned into a verb from the 2004 presidential election. Candidate John Kerry was a member of a Swiftboat patrol boat in the Navy during the Vietnam War. During his campaign, a Swiftboat related political group attempted political sabotage, effecting the verbalization of "Swiftboat".

I was partially right on my first shot. :D

Two helpful websites: http://encyclopedia.thefreedictionary.com/ and http://legal-dictionary.thefreedictionary.com/

Next linguistic challenge? My wife has 7 languages under her belt and learning 2 more. I'm only at 2 and learning 2 more. We definitely know how much fun languages can be. Like needing to know what a bottle in the shower says before using the contents when only French directions are given.

xchampion91
Said this at 1:18pm:

"Gordon - I think I was unclear in my statement about “Lets all get along”. I am only trying to get folks to talk without hate (I know that that may be impossible), I agree that as Christians we are to be salt and light and salt is an irritant and I agree we should irritate. But lets irritate without becoming like these anti-creationists that like to sound out on this blog site. But God bless you and the others who are trying to tell the truth."

If I may butt in, xchampion91, most if not all non-christians who have contributed to this page have been fairly polite and I would wish they continue to be so. It is the scripture-quoting fundamentalists who have expressed the nastiest sentiments.

"Samphire - I will pray for your soul."

Thank you, you are very kind. It was Francis Galton, a cousin of Charles Darwin, who wrote that "the Royal Family must be the fittest people in the entire land as the whole nation prays for them each Sunday". So, thank you again, but perhaps it would be better for you not to bother.

"And I encourage everyone to cease answering or debating you. We’ve tried to wash the blood from our hands and now it is up to you."

Why - what are you afraid of? All I have done is pose some rational questions but to which few, if any, have received rational answers.

"A good link for info regarding end time prophecy is www.kjv1611revealed.com. My step-father who recently posted on one of the blogs at CSEBlogs had created it a few years ago and has done a great job at showing where it all leads to - The catholic church - “that scarlet colored beast.”"

Would that be Mr Laird - the man who mistook the Roman Catholic Church for a boiled lobster?

"Will you walk a little faster?" said a whiting to a snail.
"There's a porpoise close behind us, and he's treading on my tail.
See how eagerly the lobsters and the turtles all advance!
They are waiting on the shingle - will you come and join the dance?
Will you, won't you, will you, won't you, will you join the dance?
Will you, won't you, will you, won't you, won't you join the dance?

"You can really have no notion how delightful it will be
When they take us up and throw us, with the lobsters, out to sea!"
But the snail replied "Too far, too far!" and gave a look askance -
Said he thanked the whiting kindly, but he would not join the dance.
Would not, could not, would not, could not, would not join the dance.
Would not, could not, would not, could not, could not join the dance.

"What matters it how far we go?" his scaly friend replied.
"There is another shore, you know, upon the other side.
The further off from England the nearer is to France -
Then turn not pale, beloved snail, but come and join the dance.
Will you, won't you, will you, won't you, will you join the dance?
Will you, won't you, will you, won't you, won't you join the dance?"

“Gordon – I think I was unclear in my statement about “Lets all get along”. I am only trying to get folks to talk without hate (I know that that may be impossible), I agree that as Christians we are to be salt and light and salt is an irritant and I agree we should irritate. But lets irritate without becoming like these anti-creationists that like to sound out on this blog site. But God bless you and the others who are trying to tell the truth.”

If I may butt in, xchampion91, most if not all non-christians who have contributed to this page have been fairly polite and I would wish they continue to be so. It is the scripture-quoting fundamentalists who have expressed the nastiest sentiments.

“Samphire – I will pray for your soul.”

Thank you, you are very kind. It was Francis Galton, a cousin of Charles Darwin, who wrote that “the Royal Family must be the fittest people in the entire land as the whole nation prays for them each Sunday”. So, thank you again, but perhaps it would be better for you not to bother.

“And I encourage everyone to cease answering or debating you. We’ve tried to wash the blood from our hands and now it is up to you.”

Why – what are you afraid of? All I have done is pose some rational questions but to which few, if any, have received rational answers.

“A good link for info regarding end time prophecy is http://www.kjv1611revealed.com. My step-father who recently posted on one of the blogs at CSEBlogs had created it a few years ago and has done a great job at showing where it all leads to – The catholic church – “that scarlet colored beast.””

Would that be Mr Laird – the man who mistook the Roman Catholic Church for a boiled lobster?

“Will you walk a little faster?” said a whiting to a snail.
“There’s a porpoise close behind us, and he’s treading on my tail.
See how eagerly the lobsters and the turtles all advance!
They are waiting on the shingle – will you come and join the dance?
Will you, won’t you, will you, won’t you, will you join the dance?
Will you, won’t you, will you, won’t you, won’t you join the dance?

“You can really have no notion how delightful it will be
When they take us up and throw us, with the lobsters, out to sea!”
But the snail replied “Too far, too far!” and gave a look askance -
Said he thanked the whiting kindly, but he would not join the dance.
Would not, could not, would not, could not, would not join the dance.
"Samphire - Could you use “boilerplate” and “swift-boat” in sentences? Could you mean broiler plate? As far as swift-boat, either that is a slang name for a long gravy dish or the river boats used by the US military in the Vietnam War or something else pending on region or ethnic usage. Also, from what part of the US is the slang term from? If you put a New Yorker, Southerner, MidWesterner, a Californian, various US ethnicities and a Brit together in a room, they wouldn’t understand each other. We need more clarification please."

Thanks, Maturekid.

I cannot give you any quotations. I have come across the two words in American on-line newspapers mainly.

"Boilerplate" I think would be used like this "After the usual boilerplate he got down to explaining the problem in detail" but for "swiftboat" I can give you no example. Two nations separated by a common language" no longer seems to hold sway; language evolves so fast these days!

Kind regards
