Christmas was hard on everyone in the jail, but God gave strength as He promised. The next two weeks of motions and filings are critical. Please pray more than ever that God will have me released before January 19th. We will be able to give the whole story about our case and the charges later this month.
It was disappointing to me to see the way thousands of “Christians” and even quite a few preachers have believed the worst about me in direct violation of Proverbs 18:13. “He that answereth a matter before he hearth it, it is folly and shame unto him.” Oh well, not much has changed in the Lord’s church in 2,000 years.
It has been two months today since my incarceration. So much has happened that it would take a book to cover it all. I am rested and have lost weight. I have been on the emotional roller coaster of ups and downs that everyone stays on in here, but God has been so good.
The church in G2O is doing fine. So far, ten men have come to Christ. We have studied in great detail, Genesis, Exodus, Joshua, Judges, Ruth, Proverbs, Matthew, Mark, John, Acts, Romans, and Revelation. I could write a book about the changes in the lives of some of these men.
It’s hard not to laugh and cry at the same time, when you hear some of the men’s sincere prayers. A few nights ago, one prayed, “Lord, watch over my boy Derick. He needs you, Lord. Do ya know what I mean?” He asked the Lord at least five times in his prayer if God “knew what he meant.” I suspect that God did know what he meant.
While my heart breaks everyday to be home with my family, and back out preaching (if any churches will have me after this), I do thank God for using me in here to reach others for His kingdom. A wise man once said, “Bloom where you are planted.” Unless God or some judge opens the door, I will try to bloom here.
I do get to eventually read the mail that I get here. It is such a blessing to get cards and letters of encouragement. Most of the men here would love to get cards and tracts. (See Matthew 25:35-45) I do read every letter, but must send a “generic letter response” from my office, since a personal response for each one is not possible. When I am released, I will be glad to take your calls—especially on the radio. I can’t wait to get back live on the Creation Science hour and a half. Many of the anti-creation blog entries on the cseblog site need an answer. Be sure to ask about Cytochrome C when I get back on the air. Those atheists are desperate.
In addition to ten men coming to Christ, I have been able to read about half of the Bible, as well as several other books that have made a profound impact on me. As they have been for thousands of years, the Psalms bring peace and comfort like nothing else can. If you are experiencing trouble in your life, I recommend reading the Psalms.
A book that has been a great blessing to me is David Barton’s book, “Original Intent.” It is a classic about what the founding fathers originally intended for our nation’s government in 1776. We have drifted a long way from their original intent. Every politician and judge needs to read this book. Every American needs to read this book!
“Beyond words” is the way I would describe the blessing of another book, “Then Sings My Soul” by Robert Morgan. Knowing the stories behind the writing of great hymns, multiplies their meaning. God’s admonition to “speak to yourselves in psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs” (Ephesians 5:19) is more than a wise command. It is comforting beyond words. Some men in here spend the day listening to wild and wooly rock, rap, or other music that glorifies sin and promotes wickedness. These same men suffer great stress and anguish over their situations and their future. If you are looking for a new way to rejoice in God’s creation this year, try reading this book!
A third book that has helped me is the story of Senator John McCain. While I disagree with many of his political positions, his story of surviving the prisons of North Vietnam are incredible. American jails are five star hotels by comparison.
Today, the “Motion for Release” is going up to the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals. The District Judge has denied nearly everything that we have filed, so now it is time to appeal. My Children and I have prayed for you Dr Hovind. I told them that you were surely being used by God no matter where you were. Today I came across this blog page and sure enough you have been busy for the Lord.
I have been studying about the Kingdom of God and listened to tapes from Bill Johnson. He said in them that the Lord’s prayer is present tense. “Thy Kingdom come as it IS in Heaven”. He reminds us to bind on Earth what is bound in Heaven but goes further and says that we also need to loose on Earth what is loosed in Heaven. He gave a story for an example: a friend was brought to court. He was innocent but it was possibly just meant to tie up his time and use up his funds. They prayed everyday but the truth was not “released” till one day Bill Johnson heard a message somewhere and decided to try it out. He called those who were praying and they not only prayed for the forces of deceit and blindness to be bound but they also asked that the spirit of truth be loosed. That day the case was thrown out of court. I am only just learning how to pray like this but maybe if everyone prays in one accord we will see some awesome results that bring glory to God.

I’ve been a strong supporter of you for years now and have been so encouraged by your ministry. As a youth pastor I gave your tapes to my students and it was amazing to see the change in them as their humanistic indoctrination in the public schools was replaced by a belief in the infallible Word of God. I am now a high school teacher and use your videos all the time. My students have been asking about your situation, some of them being quick to judge, but I have done my best to help them to see that you are fighting for truth, that instead of benefiting yourself, you are serving our Lord and serving all of us. Fight the good fight, keep your eyes on the goal. What Dr. Hovind is facing is something we all should take notice. We are no longer living in the “Land of the free”. As Dr. Hovind knows all to well we have lost the right to own property and the 2nd amendment is just about none existant. It is amazing how fast we forget the lessons of history. It was only about 200 years ago there was a tax party in Boston harbor and not long after that there was a different kind of party over taxes (taxation without representation). Our rights (given by our Creator) not privilages (given by the state) are rapidly being taken from us. Soon it will be preaching the Gospel will be considered a hate crime. I did not mean to get on a soap box. I am excited to read that Dr. Hovind has not abandoned his faith but is using this time to “bloom where he is planted”. We will be praying for you and your family, Dr. Hovind, and whatever the outcome we know God is faithful.

My family has been watching your debate series. They are as good as your Creation Seminar. As we watch we pray. We pray you will be released soon. Though I have been in missions for two decades, I spent most of that time deceived about creation. I was so glad to finally realize that the Bible can be taken literally, and that evidence from science backs it up in every case. Your tapes influenced me so much and the Lord used the message to the point that I have had the chance to become a part of Creation Moments. I spoke recently on Creation at a seminar, and it was the first time I have spoken on the subject. I used many of your PowerPoint slides.
Thank you for your stand for the Lord. I don’t understand all about what has happened, but I have seen your integrity over the years so I have no question about your integrity now. God will vindicate you (Psalm 35).

Great to hear all is going so well while you are in confinement.
There is a bill in Congress that most everyone on this board should follow as it holds a strong bearing on the topics Bro Hovind is subjected to. The name of the bill is Houses of Worship Free Speech Act with 170 co-sponsors with Congressman Walter Jones being the lead on it. It is designed to get government enforcement entitites (Read that IRS) to stop bullying religious institutions and start to challenge the 501.3 section of the IRS tax code.

Additionally, they are pressing the US Supreme Court to force the atheists and agnostics who bring up the mounds of Establishment Clause (anti-religious) cases to meet the same standards of proof that anyone else must meet to have a case. i.e. In order to bring a case to the federal courts, the plaintiff must prove they have been physically or financially harmed directly by an action. Since a prayer or someone expressing their religion can’t do either, that would effectively end the legal attack on Christianity.
Here’s hoping we can start to reclaim the roots of the USA.

I’m from Belgium and I just wanted to say that your video’s really made a change here for many people.
They are subtitled in Dutch and we are planning to make a summary spoken in Dutch so older people can get the message too.
If you read the books from Perretti: Darkness present and light in the darkness, you’ll see that satan planns to erase radicalism, and tries to create a world religion, were all religions can find there way. But There is only cold or hot, only a small path that leads to Him. Kent is put to jail by satan to keep people from his message, to try to lose credibility.
In my case it’s not working, but I heard that the people who translate the video’s stopped after part 5 when they heard this news.
I hope they open their eyes and let the Spirit gide them.

Hi there Mr Hovind. My name is bill and I am not in the habit of putting my 2 sense in usually, but I believe the Lord is in what will come forth. I have (along with many others I’m sure!)been reading the comments on this sight. I am saddened by the responses of some of the “brothers and sisters” in Christ. We wrestle not against flesh and blood so why do we so willingly condemn our own. We have become an witness against ourselves and still we don’t learn. We don’t know the whole story even when we suppose to have all the facts. There is always the matter of what God is doing in the situation. I have watched you grow in your current situation in ways I’m sure you would agree could of never happened without you being where the Lord put you. Christ said to first look to the plank in our own eye so that we then can better see the speck in our brothers eye. We are not doing that not only in regards to you sir, but also in regards to each other. I have not walked a mile in your shoes so I can not know nor condemn your situation. God only knows the fullness of why you are in jail and when your release will be. I believe you are in good company sir as far as having people attack you and your character. There was also Jesus who had all abandon Him. In this world you will have tribulation He said, but be of good cheer I have over come the world. He also said no servant is greater than his master…I think you know the rest. I don’t know you or your family but my guess is they all have minds and arms and legs and feelings, right? Well, this must be hard for you and them. I know it would be hard for me and my family. All of our differences aside from end times to Israel our brother needs prayers. What if it was you in there? I confess that Jesus is the Son of God! I want you to realize that the true body of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ have not abandoned you. Satan wants you to see the Wheat and the Tares as one body, but remember that our Lord said that He will separate the Wheat from the tares. From within the church “buildings” themselves is where the tares are gathered, who act as modern day Pharisees loving to judge the brethren. Their lust is to kick you down even further than natural emotions take you. [EDITED] … I am praying for you constantly! Ephesians 6v 18 describes this beautifully, “ Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints; “

Happy New Year to all. I’m in New Zealand, only a recent Dr Hovind watcher, so I’ve only just learned of his situation. Our family’s thoughts & prayers are with you & yours, Dr Hovind. As a homeschooler, I understand doing things differently to the majority. It’s very sad to see the weapons of the enemy working so well to get Christians to war with each other over issues, rather than us standing together, as some posters have said, upholding our brother in his hour of need. Not one of us can truly say we know what we would do in his place; God deals with each of us according to His ways. “Trust in the Lord with all your heart & lean not to your own understanding” Proverbs 3v5. So many instances, both in Scripture,& in more recent history, God has put His people in situations that defy our understanding. Where other Christians in trying to ‘help’ have become ‘Job’s friends’. Only after have we seen just what God was doing. Joseph sold into slavery in Egypt; the prophet who was told to marry a harlot; Moses continually being denied by Pharoah; David on the run from Saul; Esther marrying a pagan king; Jesus beaten & crucified; Corrie ten Boom sent to the concentration camp; men & women loosing their lives on the mission fields all the time, but the Gospel still increasing the world over; Christian parents in Sweden & Germany imprisoned or in hiding for homeschooling their children; men like Dr Hovind who, whether we agree with his stand or not, risked loosing his freedom, trusted in his Lord “that all things work together for good”. Christians, we know that if we understood everything about God, we wouldn’t need Him. If He showed us too much of His plan, we may not handle it. I dare say Dr Hovind doesn’t know what’s going to happen next, but he knows God is in charge. Don’t let the enemy win this – join together & focus on the battle without, not between us. You & I will never agree on everything, so why think we should all agree on this issue? A last point to the non-Christians who post here. Why? Why, when you already don’t agree with KH’s worldview, would you want to spend time on this site? You see the world totally different to us, just as the Jews & Gentiles did. A good rule to practise is one I teach my children – ‘if you don’t have something good to say, keep quiet’. A bit of common courtesy seems in short supply. I wonder how many of those Christians & non-Christians would speak so rudely to each other if this were face to face. You can make your points & still be courteous. Re the whole science side of things – a point that should be obvious was made on an Answers In Genesis DVD my kids have: namely, we all see the same ‘evidence’ around us, we just interpret it dependent on our worldview. Endless debate is never going to convince either side of the others validity, only God can do that. In His Service, I pray that all may come to a knoweldge of Jesus Christ, & Him crucified.
The disappoint you shared about the christian community willing to believe the worst about you is true. I have fielded many questions about you while I go about my daily duties. So far, all of the questions are from the viewpoint as if you are guilty of something. None of those whom I have talked to have any understanding of your direction. As I understand it (please correct me if I am wrong) you have:
Practiced what you preach and teach.
You have knowlege of this voluntary tax system and have done according to law.
Taken a stand against tyrany.
Shown great love for your fellow man, and your God.
Sacrifieced everything you have to do what is right in the eyes of God.
How many others are doing this? This self-serving christian lifestyle is sickening. Although I am a christian, I am disappointed with my brothers and sisters. They have no conviction of their own. That is why they are so quick to turn on you and judge you as evil.

Hi Kent, only found out about your situation at Christmas, I tried to log on and leave a comment, but never got sent a password (my own fault, a typo in autofill). I wanna let you know I’m praying for you. Also I want to encourage you, ‘cos I’ve bought and watched all your seminar series and a couple of your debates. I have downloaded some of your PP slides and in march I am debating against a theistic evolutionist at the local Baptist Church (it’s more like two presentations actually). I am planning to buy a projector, so eventually, I can take all of the talks around the Churches over here(UK). It’s a subject that I have never heard talked about in Church over here. I plan to change that. I will have to adapt the talks a bit for our audience (bit colonial). I am not a scientist, I am just a fabricator/welder but God has gifted me for teaching; a gift I haven’t made much use of as yet, but feel this is the turning point. I have been educating myself, students, youth, etc with your videos from before the current millenium to date. I have copied at my expense via your graciousness (which is Biblical) your tapes for many, many friends, etc. since I had first ordered them. I have even sent them to friends in Europe I have met via eBay. Every time I had called your cell phone, you personally answered. Once you were riding your lawnmower & stopped to take my call. That is boss!! What a trip that you cared enough about folks to personally talk to us on the tele. Get down!! Needless to say I felt a stabbing at my heart when I had heard negativity from Christian friend of mine concerning your incarceration. While I love this friend dearly, I reminded them that you never hid your adgenda, in fact blatantly stated it over and over on your videos.
My question is why did the IRS take so long to trip on you when you were so verbal about it for years? The answer screams that they blantantly set you up for a major fall. How do I know this? Duuuhhh!!! If they were so “righteous” they would have nailed you from the gate!! I personally have been a victim of corrupt law when I was married to a Hells Angel @ 30 years ago. Was I guilty, absolutely not!! I was a teacher. Did I know what was happening, absolutely not (although I did find out very quickly). I was teaching. Was my good name & reputation used & smeared by the law? In a heartbeat!! The law figured my name & reputation as a good scape goat to further their adgenda since I was a square (did not do drugs, racketeering, extortion, etc) and resided in squaresville USA. Why was I a square attracted to a Hells Angel? I loved (& still do) to ride Harleys!! My hubby adored me & treated me like a queen. Being a woman, I could not resist. Besides at that time, I had been backsliden since an early teen. Squares are attractive to Hells Angels as wives. If you had a square wife, you were the envy of your fellow patch holder as most square women were either terrified of them or would not associate with them via a 10 foot pole. Why am I alive after all that? I would not be if our L-rd was not hep!!!
So why is it that everyone talks you know what about the IRS, the government, etc. but then bows down to their every whim? During the counter-culture revolution, we knew & publically stated we were being lied to. BUT when it came time for our children to attend public school, we sent them to hear the same lies all over again with our blessings. I say if we were lied to, why did we think our children would not be lied to? In reality the public school system is used by most parents as what they consider to be a “FREE babysitter”. I know this to be true as I have been a childcare provider/homeschooler/educator for over 30 years. Parents have admitted to me they do not want to pay for education after the preschool years & are willing to sacrafice their children to aviod it. Parents have also admitted they cannot deal having their children around them 24/7 so they send them to public school to “babysit” so the parent can do their own thing.
Folks like you who have come to the forefront to battle the ignorance of the masses is what this nation & the world needs to wake us up from our stupor!! I am thankful for your ministry Kent reguardless of the outcome.
I must admit though that I do not want to go to jail at my age having been there @ 30 years ago which was a great mental strain on me. Had I been convicted, I know I would have lost my mind as I had a most difficult time keeping it while I was in jail. Throwing up & diarrhea due to incarcerated emotional trauma 24/7 is not my idea of well being. For many years I had nightmares of jail. My heart aches for Jo as I was in her shoes once. My heart dies for your grandchildren who love & adore you both.
Please know I consider it a priviledge to own, teach on & pass out copies of your videos. I also consider it a priviledge to be a sister in Christ.
You & yours will be in the prayers of my homeschool class. I teach 9 children (only 1 is mine) grades K -12. We center our science curriculum around your videos.
