Trusting It All for Good

Wednesday, March 28th, 2007

“Trusting It All for Good” Romans 8:28 “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.”

When God wanted to show the sins of Israel to Ezekiel, he picked him up by his hair (Ezekiel 8:3)! God was angry with the people and planned to judge them. He wanted Ezekiel to see their wickedness first hand in order to understand why God was justified in sending judgement.

God has a host of reasons for sending people places. He sent Philip to the desert to win one man to Christ (Acts 8:26). He sent Elijah and Elisha many places to minister (II Kings). He sent Paul all over the Mediterranean including several times to prison to reach people with the gospel (Acts).

As much as I wish I were home with my family and staff and back out preaching, and as much as I still don’t understand what I did wrong or why this all happened, I do know it is my duty to forgive those who hurt me and my family (that’s been hard!) and to reach those I meet for the Lord. We had a great revival in G2O at the county jail and I am trusting God to do the same here.

Maybe God is allowing me to see and experience this to prepare me to serve during the one-thousand year reign of Christ (Luke 19:19). Maybe it is so I will better understand the broken hearts of millions of innocent people who have been jailed, beaten or killed over the centuries by heartless dictators or ruthless governments. Maybe there are dozens of other reasons known only to God, but this I know: God is too good to make a mistake. I’ve served God too long (38 years) to doubt His wisdom. Just as Moses only got to see God after He passed by (Exodus 33:22), I have learned that I often see God’s hand after He’s done.

The entire situation has caused me to get an ever greater sense of urgency to win souls and to influence others to serve God. Time is short!! The Lord’s coming is very soon. The world is racing toward a “New World Order” with Satan in charge. God told us all about it in Daniel and Revelation.
I’ve read the last chapter and God wins!

Next May, the national identification card containing a microchip will be mandatory in the United States. One man in the county jail with me was from Latvia. He told me his dad, as well as millions of others in the European Union, have a microchip implanted in their right wrist to speed border crossings. He thought it was a great idea and couldn’t wait for the idea to catch on in America! Even after I showed him Revelation 13:11-18, he was unchanged. It was as if he was blinded to the truth. By the way, the KJV says the mark will be “in the hand” which includes the wrist (Genesis 24:22), while nearly all other Bible versions say “on the hand.” This is yet another reason for sticking with the King James Version.

There are two critical cases before the Supreme Court now that bear directly on my sentencing. They are the Clayborn vs. US and Rita vs. US cases. They both deal with the right given in the Sixth Amendment to trial by jury. If the jury finds you guilty of a crime that calls for probation, as does my “crime, so-called,” can a judge enhance the sentence based on “evidence” brought to the judge at sentencing on which the jury did not deliberate nor hear, as happened in my case? Please pray the Supreme Court will rule soon in favor of the Constitution and make the ruling retro-active to free thousands now serving greatly enhanced sentences.

America has 2.3 million people locked up now and 30 million felons who have been in prison at one time in their life. I will certainly be more sensitive to their needs as I minister!

“Many thanks” to all of you that have written encouraging letters and blogs.
I do read all my mail and eventually get to read all the blogs. I wish I could personally respond, but……not yet. I so appreciate letters, but please understand if I cannot give you a personal response. Paul Abramson is doing a great job on the blog site and answering questions in my absence.
Eric and the CSE Team have also done amazingly well during this time of great testing. I’m so thankful for all of them! I’m also very proud of all my children and their families and am blessed to have them all love God, live next door, and assist me in this ministry!

I still maintain my intergrity (Job 2:3, Acts 25:11, Genesis 40:15) and will until God judges all men (Hebrews 9:27). Meanwhile, I get full contact visits with my family and staff; the food here is great; there are lots of activities; and there are plenty of needy men to minister to. I am working on a series of children’s Bible stories as told from a dinosaur’s point of view, as well as a book called, “Help! I’m a Public School Student Being Taught Evolution.”

Psalm 27:11-14 has been special to me during this time, as have hundreds of other passages. With the soon coming bad times on earth, I suggest you fill your head and heart with God’s Word while you can. To the evolutionist bloggers who still believe they came from a rock, please think about it one more time before you die and face God. To those who know the Creator personally, introduce someone else to Him today!

Redefining CSE Blogs's Purpose

Tuesday, March 27th, 2007

Thank you for reading and posting on www.cseblogs.com   This site was created in 2006 in order to publish news concerning Dr. Kent Hovind’s life and the legal battle he faces.  Updating the CSE blog audience with information concerning his October 2006 trial, his sentencing, and his current prison outreach, and legal updates is the site’s purpose.  This blog site was not intended to fill the role of a place for a difficult creation-evolution debate.

Each day, CSE receives many creation science questions from people who have not watched the seven-part series.  We try to answer these questions, often by pointing them to the answers already addressed in the creation series.  It takes about 17 hours to view all 8 DVDs in the series and contains a plethora of quality material to study and assimilate.  It may be found at the following site.

Our mission, to reach the world with the creation message, remains the motivation of the CSE Team.  Thus, realizing the monumental importance of the creation message, the CSE Team continues the distribution of creation materials through the www.drdino.com web-site.  The www.cseblog.com site will return to its original purpose of reporting on Dr. Hovind’s personal situation.  For those who wish to continue an on-line creation debate, here are a few places that appear to have current creation-evolution debates ongoing.

To those who are interested and concerned about Dr. Hovind’s situation and the message of creation we say, “Thank you for reading and posting.”

Mark 16:15 “And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.”

March 8, 2007
4:00 am Awoke to lights on
4:30 am Given breakfast
5:00 am Heard PA announcement, “Bunk Three, Hovind, H O V I N D, ATW” (ATW means you are going home!)
5:00 – 5:30 am Packed up stuff and gave books away to inmates
5:30 am Had prayer time with ten men who love Jesus and me, to ask God’s blessing as I leave to go home
5:45 am Heard PA announcement, “Correction to earlier announcement. Bunk Three, Hovind, H O V I N D, no ATW—being transported.”
5:46 am Taken by guards down to sit in the ice cold “tank” and wait
6:30 am Moved by car to a different part of the jail to another freezing cold “tank” to wait
9:10 am Saw Federal Marshals arrive to transport me to a Federal Prison Camp in Pensacola. This minimum security federal facility was designed for 300 but houses 700 men. All these men work to help maintain military bases in the area.
11:00 am Finish intake details including a physical. Lost 25 pounds in the County Jail
11:15 am Served first good hot food in four and a half months!
12:00-10:00pm Free to roam, well, sort of free. For the first time in four and a half months, I felt a blade of grass; wore tie shoes, a belt, and a real shirt and pants (no jump suit!); got a locker with a lock; and slept on a bed with a real pillow. Feeling the sunshine for only the fourth time in four and a half months made me want to walk around the camp all day!

March 9, 2006
11:30-2:00 Scrubbed pots and pans
2:00-5:00 Scrubbed down a grill as health inspection is coming up My boss loved my work! He said it is the best the grill has looked in years.

There is a video library here, and our creation video tapes have been here for many years. They were very well worn. They were also removed the afternoon after I arrived. There seem to be many men who had watched them and know me and who have followed my case during the past months. Several concerned brothers showed me around and supplied me with things I needed, including a watch and tennis shoes. God is sooooo good!

I will get full-contact visits beginning Friday evening, Saturday, and Sunday! My family only lives six and one half miles away! The vast majority of the men here are far away from their families. It has been so hard not to be able to touch my family or hold my grandchildren. I have never held my newest grandson, Eric Jordan.

There are no bars or locked gates and no sickening sounds of steel doors slamming shut. There are private showers and toilets, vending machines, and coke and ice! I will never look at many simple things in life the same.

There are twelve men in my small room. At least five are professing Christians, two are Jews, and I don’t know about the rest yet. I started a Bible study with one guy, but before we finished, twelve more joined. There are only 688 more men to go! It’s a little overwhelming at first. What a mission field! I have learned, however, that group meetings/Bible studies must be limited to no more than five in a group at a time. This rule was a direct result of 9/11. It will take more patience and time to reach men this way, but God knows all these things.

The Motion for Acquittal of Counts 13 – 57 is still on Judge Rodger’s desk. If she grants that, she will have to re-sentence me. Then the 11th Circuit will get our Motion for Release Pending Appeal.

Thanks for your faithful prayers. I will never forget the great time with God in the county jail. Truly, His grace is sufficient! Many men’s lives were changed for this life and for eternity. They still love to get mail and tracts. My new, hopefully short-term, address is:

Kent Hovind #06452-017

Thank you for continuing to pray for me and the CSE Team. Keep spreading the gospel!

Mark 16:15 “And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.”

Here is an update on my status. I am still in the Escambia County Jail—just over four months now. Our attorneys are still filing motions with District Judge Casey Rodgers to drop the charges, acquit the case, and release me from jail. When all of these are ruled on, if she does not overturn the case, it will go to the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals. The attorneys are still confident that we have broken no laws and will prevail. I am still not free to explain our side, but you can get many details on www.penaltyprotestor.com. Praise God! My wife’s sentencing has been postponed indefinitely. We covet your prayers for my release as in Acts 12:5 and James 5:16.

The CSE Ministry Team is still doing well, in spite of the devastating blow.
My son Eric has done an awesome job filling in for me during my “extended leave!” We still get dozens of reports every week of souls being saved and lives being changed. That is our main purpose on earth. We praise God for using us even during this great time of trial and testing.

In response to an overzealous newspaper article, Mark Twain once wrote, “The reports of my recent death are greatly exaggerated.” Likewise, Dinosaur Adventure Land still has visitors from all over the globe, in spite of many false reports about it being closed.

The “church” at G2O is doing well also. Our three times per day Bible Study and Prayer Times are a great joy! The Holy Spirit is changing lives in unbelievable ways. The jail offers a six week class to help those with addictions. It is taught once a week in this particular jail pod. Therefore, men who request this class are placed in this pod in order to most efficiently teach the class. This keeps a continued flow of men to my pod, yet God has kept me in the same place. I guess you could say the Church in G2O is very transient!

If you have never read the book, “Peace Child” by missionary Don Richardson, you should! It is available from the CSE web-site. I re-read the book every few years to renew my evangelistic zeal. In the book, missionary Don went to reach the head-hunting, cannibalistic Sawi Tribe in the swamps of Papua New Guinea.

He soon discovered that he had to learn not only a new language and culture, but a totally new way of thinking. In the Sawi culture, treachery using the basest deceit was the highest virtue! As Don shared the gospel story with the Sawis, they came to the conclusion that Judas Iscariot was the hero! Based on their worldview, this was a logical conclusion. Read this amazing book to learn how he overcame this great obstacle.

My last four months in jail have been similar in many ways. Most of the men God sent me to reach in here have a very different way of viewing the world and thinking about many things. In one Bible study, I mentioned that God’s plan is for both the man and the woman to be virgins on their wedding day and to stay faithful for life. I said that is what my wife and I have done for over thirty three years. No one in this jail pod had ever heard of such a thing! One man said, “That would be so cool! You could really trust your wife and have a great relationship, couldn’t you!”

Just as Don had to spend hours listening to the Sawis to understand their culture before he found the key to reaching them for Christ; I have spent untold hours listening to men who were raised completely opposite of me, describe their world view. It is important to “sit where they sit” to really reach them (Ezekiel 3:15). Understanding the reasons behind why they take drugs, wear pants halfway down with their boxers showing, have gold front teeth, have 16″ long dread locks that they have not combed in eight years, or flock to the TV for the local news to see if their “home-boy” was arrested, is all part of my current missionary assignment.

I have seen men shake and sweat as they come off some of the worst drugs known to man. I learned that black men can shave with a plastic spoon! I see the results of the failure of our society, school system, and churches. Why weren’t these men reached when they were kids?

I’ve been able to witness to Muslims, Buddhists, Nazis, drug dealers, Jehovah Witnesses, whoremongers, adulterers, child molesters, and homosexuals, as well as men who have no clue who their father is and whose mother was a prostitute. Most have never been to church or read the Bible in their entire life.

Watching them get excited about learning God’s Word after they trust Christ is a sight of which I never tire! God wakes me up about 3:30 every morning so I walk to each man’s “house” and pray for them by name. The fact that many have probably never had anyone pray for them, breaks my heart every day. What a mission field!

Thank you for continuing to pray for me and the CSE Team. Keep spreading the gospel!

For Souls,

Kent Hovind
