Dear trueblue,

I left Alaska when I was 10 but have enjoyed hunting and fishing and camping since from Maine to Colorado. Food, food, food protection is the most important part of any campsite. Secondly, hook up with someone familiar with the terrain that you are going into, take your bear pepper spray (30 feet for 10 seconds spray, don't settle for something less. All members in your party should have the spray) and get real smart on how smart these animals really are. Attacks are almost always preventable with proper preparation and a great deal of respect for them. However, it is moose that actually kill more people every year in car accidents. Alaska is a great place but treat it with great respect. 2 of my childhood friends died in the elements in their late twenties and early thirties and they were experts since early in life in the outdoors. Beautiful place but still quite wild.

Mr. Endtimes.
Enjoy reading your posts.
I'm going to Alaska next week and will be camping.
Any pointers for protecting myself from those bears?
I've got the spray, since Canada makes it difficult for me to take my
gun.

Samphire

Said this at 9:59am:

“Poor Old Endtimes,

President Bush makes a not unreasonable belated provision to protect the safety of Americans from natural disaster (Katrina), terrorism (9/11), or insurrection (EndTimeans protesting with guns and bazookas at the failure of Christ to return) and suddenly the numba of the Dubya is 666.
But it isn’t, so there is no need to panic. Just yet, anyway.

A dirty nuclear bomb or a biological weapon will have no respect for Nutbush City limits and it is the first duty of any President to ensure the safety of his country’s citizens. Katrina proved how inefficient the National Guard was when uncoordinated by the limitations imposed by the Posse Comitatus Act so perhaps its abolition is long overdue. Given that you Yanks have an average of 17(is it?) guns per family you should be able to well protect yourselves from any of your own sons, brothers and fathers who are in the National Guard.

Endtimes, you have been watching too many KH seminars. He has exactly the same error on one of his Powerpoint slides. 700 talks a year and he still hasn’t spotted it. Perhaps Eric has.
Why would anybody stop the population from working? The lesson of history is that dictators can never get enough workers. Anyway - you told us earlier that you haven’t worked for some years.”

My dear Samphire,

I have finally figured out who your famous English relative is. I guess you won’t see the danger of the American fascist government any more than did your compatriot in arms and thought, Mr. Neville Chamberlain who apparently was your grandfather.

I hope you really don’t think that I am a raving lunatic to cherish freedom and peace that could be stamped out at the hand of one single man on his own whim by immensely dangerous powers of law in a modern “democracy.” Sorry to be blunt, but we Yanks did cherish freedom and took that proposition to the bank in our Revolutionary war. Those that don’t remember history are doomed to repeat it. We are a little over the 50 year limit on that supposition since WWII. Nope, the clouds of war are always forecast quite a bit ahead of time. I hope no one on this blog still operates under the delusion that Americans or even Englishmen visiting America have any guaranteed rights any more. If there is some one that wishes to abrogate your “lawful” constitutional rights, they can by law. Imagine that here in the land of the free and the brave. If this does not give you the willies given the history of atrocities at the hands of dictatorial governments in the last 200 years alone, then I truly don’t understand what principles of liberty that you do support.

I wonder what great emergency will trash the constitution completely in what I expect to be the very near future. They are probably in the planning and implementation stages as we talk. (Who do I mean by “they”??) I guess you have forgotten all about the German Reichstag , The US Maine, and the burning of Rome by Nero which were used as an excuse for crises management. Hmmmm, you seem to have a pretty narrow knowledge of proven conspiracies. What about Pearl Harbor as well. Sorry, but these things are sadly well documented and are not from the imagination of lunatics dreaming up conspiracy theories.

Katrina you say. Do you believe that we couldn’t even drive a National Guard vehicle to the same locations that dozens of reporters easily did? That wasn’t the capability of the Army that I was once in. Perhaps the Coast Guard was not able to get even one boat up the Mississippi to where the Dome is located right by the river for 5 days. Hmmm, what an inept and incompetent military we have. Wow, I guess we should trash the constitution and that will make everyone in America and the rest of the world safer. My dear Samphire, if that is what you wish to believe, then go ahead. Take a look at Chamberlain's legacy.

“Chamberlain's political legacy is marked by his dealings with and appeasement of Nazi Germany. He signed the Munich Agreement with Adolf Hitler in 1938, which effectively allowed Germany to annex the Czech Sudetenland. Shortly thereafter, Hitler occupied the remainder of Czechoslovakia, technically his first international act of aggression, and the first step on the road to World War II. Chamberlain entered into a Mutual Defense Pact with Poland, but was unable to do anything directly when Germany invaded it six days later on 1st September 1939. Nevertheless, Chamberlain delivered an ultimatum to Hitler, declared war on Germany on 3 September and launched attacks on German shipping on September 4. During the period now known as "The Phony War" until May 1940 Chamberlain sent a 300,000 strong British Expeditionary Force to Belgium. (This force was lightly armed and later had to be ignominiously rescued from the beaches of Dunkirk).

Chamberlain was forced to resign the premiership on 10 May 1940, after Germany invaded the Netherlands, Belgium and France. He was succeeded by Winston Churchill but remained very well regarded in Parliament. He had a key role in the formation of the Special Operations Executive. Chamberlain died of cancer six months after leaving office.”

I’m sorry Samphire, but you have not done yourself proud on your last diatribe against me. I was under the impression that you defended the concept of freedom and liberty. Well, perhaps I was wrong about that assessment. Perhaps the London fog is again blotting out the fascist storm clouds that were once on the horizon in 1938 and are now once again forming over another place in the Atlantic. That leaves the world with only one source of hope that you have rejected and continue to reject. If not for the evidence of the witness of God, I would leave you completely to your own views and not question a one of them. But alas, the witness of God is greater than the witness of man.

I truly seek your salvation with all of my heart and with great compassion for the countless prayers of your beautiful mother.

EndTimes

P.S. It is only two guns in my household thank you. I wanted more, but the Lord would not allow it. Sorry, but I grew up in Alaska and it was the habit and practice of any reasonably intelligent man to carry an equalizer for old griz.

Said this at 9:42pm:

But I’ve come to realize that in Washington, deceiving and manipulating the public are viewed by some as the natural prerogatives of office. Huey Long once said, “Fascism will come to America in the name of anti-fascism.” I’m afraid, based on my own experience, that fascism will come to America in the name of national security.”

__________

Below is a page of a history website, where the question is asked .... How did Germany descend so quickly into becoming a dictatorship?

http://www.historylearningsite.co.uk/Nazi_Germany_dictatorship.htm

To summarise;
History tells of Hitler, entering office in free and fair elections, yet within just 3-6 months, Germany was a one party state dictatorship. The method used by Hitler to do this was terrorism....

The Reichstag building burned down (an act of terrorism hitting the heart of Germany), Hitler blamed the communists (I guess terrorists at that time were called communists). President Hindenburg then gave Hitler emergency powers to Protect the “People and the State”.

Hitler (and his cronies) were the real terrorists, they created the problem (burning down the Reichstag).
The people of Germany reacted fearing a communist takeover (again I guess that, since it hadn’t been so long since the Russian revolution, the fear was real).
The solution was to give Hitler the power to fight the perceived threat on behalf of the people. Hitler became the ‘Hero’ of the hour, the only man ready & prepared to fight such an evil.

The plan worked brilliantly, Hitler took the stance that you were either with <i>him</i> or with the <i>terrorists</i>. All visible opposition was quelled.

Just to note... Hitler never lost power through the will of the German people, Hitler lost power through Germany being invaded.

There is nothing to say that this same plan that Hitler used, with a little adaptation due to modern media (internet freedoms etc) couldn’t happen today.
If the plan was enacted within a nation which would was more powerful and harder to invade.... It might actually stand the test of time (that would be of course until Jesus returned).

_____________

I am glad to know that Jesus is alive, He is resurrected, and now we have hope (Death where is your sting :) ).
There is nothing which man can do with the liberty that God gave him which is beyond God’s hand to deal with.
I don’t fear those in the world, for He who is in me is greater than he who is in the world.

_____________

PS. To the Hovind Family, Thankyou for the blessings you have given to me & my family, I'm looking forward to a time when these troubles are history.

Lots of Love

I haven't read all the blog entries, and don't know if anyone has mentioned this, but here is an interesting comparison: When "Rev." Sun Myung Moon, leader and founder of the Unification Church, (Moonies), was arrested for tax evasion, and we're talking millions of dollars, he got an 18 month sentence-18 MONTHS! And he probably didn't serve it all. Now, a couple years ago, he was crowned, yes, crowned, King of Peace in one of our own congressional buildings in Washington DC by members of congress, both parties, and many religious leaders. And Kent Hovind, a good man who, at the worst, made a mistake with who he hired to advise him on his taxes, owning less than $50,000.00 in taxes, is given 10 years, and has been sent into solitary in a maximum security facility, that holds murderers and such. Go figure!

Thanks Sade for the penalty protestor link, it makes for interesting reading as those counts are the most questionable. I hadn't checked up on that site for a bit. Should be interesting to see how it all plays out both at the District level and the above courts.

Does anyone have credible information regarding their attorney Jerold Barringer? I can't seem to find much.

Thanks,

You mentioned Chuck Missler. Would that be the Chuck Missler who made such a fool of himself claiming that peanut butter disproved the Theory of Evolution?

One can only surmise that he was expecting a tentacle to dart out of the jar and grab him by the throat or something along those lines.

<strong>[EDITOR'S NOTE: </strong> <em>Here is Dr. Missler's excellent web site: <strong>http://www.khouse.org</strong> P.A.</em> <strong>]</strong>

Hi everyone, I just wanted to share this with you all as it really touched my heart. (Note to P.A. this bears no copyright, please do post! :))

<b>The Smell of rain.</b>

A cold March wind danced around the dead of night in Dallas as
the doctor walked into the small hospital room of Diana Blessing. She
was still groggy from surgery.

Her husband, David, held her hand as they braced themselves for
the latest news.

That afternoon of March 10, 1991, complications had forced Diana,
only 24-weeks pregnant, to undergo an emergency Cesarean to deliver
couple's new daughter, Dana Lu Blessing.

At 12 inches long and weighing only one pound nine ounces, they
already knew she was perilously premature.

Still, the doctor's soft words dropped like bombs.

"I don't think she's going to make it," he said, as kindly as he
could.

"There's only a 10-percent chance she will live through the
night, and even then, if by some slim chance she does make it, her
future could be a very cruel one"

Numb with disbelief, David and Diana listened as the doctor
described the devastating problems Dana would likely face if she
survived.

She may never walk, she may never talk, she would probably be
blind, and she would certainly be prone to other catastrophic conditions
from cerebral palsy to complete mental retardation, and on and on.

"No! No!" was all Diana could say.

She and David, with their 5-year-old son Dustin, had long dreamed
of the day they would have a daughter to become a family of four.

Now, within a matter of hours, that dream was slipping away

But as those first days passed, a new agony set in for David and
Diana. Because Dana's underdeveloped nervous system was essentially
'raw', the lightest kiss or caress only intensified her discomfort, so
they couldn't even cradle their tiny baby girl against their chests to
offer the strength of their love.

All they could do, as Dana struggled alone beneath the
ultraviolet light in the tangle of tubes and wires, was to pray that God
would stay close to their precious little girl.

There was never a moment when Dana suddenly grew stronger.

But as the weeks went by, she did slowly gain an ounce of weight
here and an ounce of strength there.

At last, when Dana turned two months old. her parents were able
to hold her in their arms for the very first time.

And two months later, though doctors continued to gently but
grimly warn that her chances of surviving, much less living any kind of
normal life, were next to zero, Dana went home from the hospital, just
as her mother had predicted.

Five years later, when Dana was a petite but feisty young girl
with glittering gray eyes and an unquenchable zest for life.

She showed no signs whatsoever of any mental or physical
impairment. Simply, she was everything a little girl can be and more.
But that happy ending is far from the end of her story.

One blistering afternoon in the summer of 1996 near her home in
Irving, Texas, Dana was sitting in her mother's lap in the bleachers of
a local ball park where her brother Dustin's baseball team was
practicing.

As always, Dana was chattering nonstop with her mother and
several other adults sitting nearby when she suddenly fell silent.
Hugging her arms across her chest, little Dana asked, "Do you smell
that?"

Smelling the air and detecting the approach of a thunderstorm,
Diana replied, "Yes, it smells like rain."

Dana closed her eyes and again asked, "Do you smell that?"

Once again, her mother replied, "Yes dear, I think we're about to get
wet. It smells like rain."

Still caught in the moment, Dana shook her head, patted her thin
shoulders with her small hands and loudly announced,

"No, it smells like Him.

It smells like God when you lay your head on His chest."

Tears blurred Diana's eyes as Dana happily hopped down to play
with the other children.

Before the rains came, her daughter's words confirmed what Diana
and all the members of the extended Blessing family had known, at least
in their hearts, all along.

During those long days and nights of her first two months of her
life, when her nerves were too sensitive for them to touch her, The Lord was
holding Dana on His chest and it is His loving scent that she remembers
so well.

<b>"But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings;" Malachi 4:2

"I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me." Philippians 4:13

"God thundereth marvellously with his voice; great things doeth he, which we cannot comprehend. For he saith to the snow, Be thou on the earth; likewise to the small rain, and to the great rain of his strength." Job 37:5-6

"Then shall we know, if we follow on to know the LORD: his going forth is prepared as the morning; and he shall come unto us as the rain, as the latter and former rain unto the earth." Hosea 6:3

"Be patient therefore, brethren, unto the coming of the Lord. Behold, the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth, and hath long patience for it, until he receive the early and latter rain. Be ye also patient; stablish your hearts: for the coming of the Lord draweth nigh." James 5:7-8</b>

This morning when the Lord opened a window to Heaven, He saw me,
and He asked: "My child, what is your greatest prayer for today?"

I responded:

"Lord please, bless the person who is reading this, their family, friends and loved ones.
They deserve it and I love them very much" The love of God is like an endless ocean, you can see its beginning, but not its end.

ANGELS DO EXIST but some times, since they don't all have wings, we pass them in the street unaware, or they walk past us with a smile and a loving stare.

God bless and keep you all in his eternal love and grace.
