KH: Good morning, Lord.
GOD: Good morning, Son. You have been wondering about Bob, haven’t you?
KH: Yes, Lord. His dad was a preacher. How did he turn out so evil?
GOD: Lots of preachers’ kids turn out fine, Son. Each person makes their own decisions in life. You can’t always blame the parents. But they do have a profound influence, and sometimes must share in the blame.
Let’s go for a walk. Hophni is badly wounded by the Philistines and will die soon (1 Sam 4:11), but he may be able to help you understand…
That’s him leaned up against that tree. Go talk with him about his dad and childhood, Son. See if he can answer your questions.
KH: OK, Lord…Excuse me, Mr. Hophni, can you answer a few questions for me?
Hophni (Hop): I’ll try. I don’t have long to live.
KH: What happened?
Hop: It’s a long, sad story.
KH: I’d love to hear it if I can learn from it (1 Cor. 10:6).
Hop: Oh, there is a lot to learn from my story and family. Mostly on how not to raise kids.
KH: Learning from others’ mistakes is better than repeating them.
Hop: Well my dad was a priest of the Lord in Shiloh about 20 miles north of Jerusalem. He got us jobs as priests, too. My brother and I were not really in the priesthood because we loved or even knew the Lord (1 Sam. 2:12). We did it for the food and the women (1 Sam. 2:22).
KH: Didn’t your dad scold you or fire you for your lewd conduct?
Hop: No, and that’s part of the problem. Dad was really lazy. He spent most of his time sitting by a post (1 Sam. 1:9; 4:13; 4:18) or judging those who came to the temple (1 Sam. 1:14). He knew what we were doing, but never restrained us (1 Sam. 3:13). God even came and warned him through a man of God (1 Sam. 2:27-36), but it didn’t seem to phase dad. There was no repentance on his part that we could see. We just kept getting fatter and fatter from the offerings of the people. My brother and I couldn’t believe how easy it was to scam the people out of their money.
KH: We have a few TV evangelists like that now in my country.
Hop: What’s a TV?
KH: Never mind. That would take awhile to explain. Anyway, what was your dad’s job in the temple?
Hop: It was gravy job. He was supposed to teach people the Word of God and get messages from God for the people, but I never saw him talk to God or get a vision from God (1 Sam 3:1). He was supposed to keep the lamp burning (Lev. 24:2), but it went out all the time (1 Sam. 3:3). He was too lazy to fill it with oil. One lady brought her son to live at the temple to be trained as a priest (1 Sam. 1:24-28). Dad had him do most of the work. His name was Samuel. He seemed to really love the Lord (1 Sam. 2:26). We didn’t spend a lot of time with him. We were too busy chasing women and eating like pigs.
KH: Did God ever speak to Samuel?
Hop: God called him three times one night before dad figured out it was God calling (1 Sam. 3:2-8). God told that kid that He was angry at Dad and us boys for our behavior.
KH: So how did you end up here on a battlefield, bleeding to death?
Hop: We attacked the Philistines yesterday and they killed about 4,000 of our men (1 Sam. 4:1-2), so my brother and I went to get the Ark of the Lord to save us in battle.
KH: Did you think it had magic powers or something?
Hop: Well….we never read the Bible as kids, but I had heard that God lived in that box so we brought it to the battle.
KH: Why would you think God lived in a box?
Hop: We never saw Dad talk with Him anywhere else. He went to where the box was with a sacrifice once a year, so we figured that’s where God was. It seems sort of silly now that I think about it. Anyway, the soldiers all got excited when we brought the ark into the camp. They shouted so loud that the Philistines heard them (1 Sam. 4:5-8). They were scared.
KH: Did it work to give you special power to beat them?
Hop: No. That’s why I’m here bleeding to death. They beat us bad and stole the ark of God. Dad will be upset that we took it.
KH: We have people in my country that think some charm on their neck or wall will protect them too. Some even put stuff on the dash of their car to have a good luck charm. It is silly, isn’t it?
Hop: Yes…What’s a car?
KH: Never mind. They won’t be invented for about 3,000 years.
Hop: I’ll be dead by then.
KH: Do you have any children?
Hop: Yes, and my brother’s wife is due any day now (1 Sam. 4:19-22).
KH: Do you have any advice on how to raise kids?
Hop: No. All my advice would be on how not to do it. Dad let us get by with sin. He was lazy and didn’t have a real relationship with God. I would guess that things would be different today if those could have been changed. We also learned from him to treat God like a genie we could call on to get us out of trouble. That didn’t work.
KH: What about Samuel?
Hop: He is too young to have kids yet, but I worry for his kids when he has them. He never really saw how a normal functioning Christian family should work. Only time will tell how his turn out (1 Sam. 8:1-3).
KH: Yes, a good example to follow is great, but many people are wicked, yet their kids turn out fine. Each person really makes their own decisions in life.
Hop: I know. I made mine, and they were wrong. Now it’s too late.
GOD: Let’s go home, Son. Does that help?
KH: Yes, Lord. Even if Bob’s dad was a lazy preacher, it is still Bob’s duty to read and obey Your Word. He will have no excuse on judgment day, will he?
GOD: None, Son.
KH: Lord?
GOD: Yes, Son?
KH: Thanks for helping my kids turn out to love and serve You. I’m a rich man aren’t I, Lord? Even my five grandchildren love You so far.
GOD: Richer than you know. Go walk the track, Son. I’ve got your back.

The LORD said this would happen in the last days to men and women like you … this could be your great exploit spoken of from Daniel 11:32 …And such as do wickedly against the covenant shall he corrupt by flatteries: but the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits. 33And they that understand among the people shall instruct many: yet they shall fall by the sword, and by flame, by captivity, and by spoil, many days. 34Now when they shall fall, they shall be holpen with a little help: but many shall cleave to them with flatteries. 35And some of them of understanding shall fall, to try them, and to purge, and to make them white, even to the time of the end: because it is yet for a time appointed. 36And the king shall do according to his will; and he shall exalt himself, and magnify himself above every god, and shall speak marvellous things against the God of gods, and shall prosper till the indignation be accomplished: for that that is determined shall be done.
I wrote ABC News in regard to story on their web-site relating How America is slowly and subtlety becoming like Germany of Hitlers time…. Is it politically based… You decide.. I know it s Biblically and historically sound… and a warning for all Americans. I hope you enjoy it.

HItler all over again! Socialism!!!
For those who don’t research but, believe “What is placed before them to eat” Socialism is:
a political and economic theory of social organization that advocates that the means of production, distribution, and exchange should be owned or regulated by the community as a whole.
• policy or practice based on this theory.
• (in Marxist theory) a transitional social state between the overthrow of capitalism and the realization of communism.
The term “socialism” has been used to describe positions as far apart as anarchism, Soviet state communism, and social democracy; however, it necessarily implies an opposition to the untrammeled (in other words “WE are deprived of freedom of action or expression; restricted in) workings of the economic market. Your forced to do things that our parents and Grand-parents fought “REAL WARS” over. The socialist parties that have arisen in most European countries from the late 19th century have generally tended toward social democracy.
Sound like America today? Americans are constantly being told we are a democracy. Not according to the Constitution and the simple reciting of the Pledge or allegiance (Note: Obama did not respect this American tradition taught to every school child, as he is working for a a different people and not American citizen).
There is a bigger Agenda here fellow true Americans … What is happening in Iran today after their elections, could never happen here in America. You would be silenced or labeled a nut case to put it mildly.
For those who wonder, “What” and “How” such things can happen all over again, (History) and why no one is (Or can’t seem to do anything about it) … is NOT socialistic scheme nor even humanistic in nature but, A Divine or Supernatural matter. God, in Bible through Daniel 11-12 gives clear understanding of our times. Clear (That is if you have a relationship or your name is “Written” in His book) This is just a part of what, “This IDEA” and those “SOCIAL ELITES” running the show … have been forecasted well over 2600 years ago. (Nostradamus eat your heart out) “And the king (Political Rulers of those days … OUR DAYS) shall do according to his will; (Note: His will, implies, “If it’s not for God, it is for “The Devil as the next few word of the prophesy states”) and HE shall exalt himself, and magnify himself above every god, and shall speak marvelous things against the God of gods, and shall prosper (succeed) till the indignation be accomplished: for that (which) is determined shall be done”.
The word “indignation” is used to describe these people and the actions they are trying to accomplish. If I didn’t loose you with mentioning “God” earlier … “Indignation” also means: resentment, disgruntlement, displeasure, anger, outrage, annoyance, irritation, exasperation, offense, aggravation. It is like God, is letting “us” as the “Human race” (The Global Community as it is called in the “ELITE” circles) “FAIL” to finally show “Father (God) Knows Best”. For those who think “Peace” is Good, Peace IS GOOD … BUT… Their “Ideas” of PEACE, does not include You or I. Google… “Georgia Guidestones” Normal people would never impose nor think of such “Ideas” as written on these stones. True Americans, you have to “WAKE UP” and understand, Those in office today are not normal people but, on a mission to do what is on those stones. The “New World Order” Global Government” Global Community” are all that same name to get rid of you and “YOUR” family, in order to keep, “THEIR” families survival. Your have not only been voted off the island by these people, you have been targeted for termination. Sorry James Bond Jaws can’t save you this time … only Jesus, the prophesied Jewish “Savior” for Jew and Gentile alike mentioned in the Bible fits the bill of “TRUE” Peace maker. He is just letting, “US” His children, “Exhaust” ALL our human excuses, (Like any parent would with a rebellious child) till we mature and come to our senses. His hope though is we do this before it is to late.
Dear Brother Kent,
Quite a while ago I mentioned in this space the phenomenon of Spontaneous Human Combustion. I learnt just today I am working with someone who personally knew a victim of this very weird, very exceptional event. The man is my immediate supervisor on a construction project in regional Victoria. Born and raised in Kerry Country in the Irish Republic he told me of the strange death of his elderly friend John O’Connor,
Co Kerry, Irish Republic. 76 year old John O’Connor was found dead in his living room at Gortaleen by the community nurse who regularly visited him. Mr O’Connors charred remains were in a chair positioned some distance from his hearth. Only his head and upper torso along with his feet remained unburnt. There was little smoke damage to the room or furniture. The Local priest who attended the scene described it as “if somebody had poured petrol into his lap”.
I list this as one of may favourite examples of the compellingly inexplicable. Something too bizarre for many people to countenance at all. But I believe in Resurrections, Angels and Demons, floating axe heads and ?retrograde solar motion {Joshua’s long day}. So this doesn’t really come as so extraordinary at all.
The problem with crop circles and stuff like Spontaneous Human Combustion is that most evangelicals/ anyone has an extremely hard time finding any place for them in either prophesy or any teaching of scripture. They don’t fit neatly into any check boxes.
The temperatures requisite to burn bone down to powder are very high. That nearby fabrics/ wood/ plastics could be unaffected is beyond rationale as it is commonly perceived.
So therein lies the problem. Both Secularism and Dogma act to preclude, yet God is revealed as one who can do above and beyond all man has hoped or imagined.
He doesn’t easily fit check boxes, government forms, or little men’s imaginations. I like that.
God is revealed as an all consuming fire and He has promised that all this will burn with fervent heat. When He says very, it will be.
Dear brother Kent.
I went to check on a friend today. It had been about 5 days since I’d seen him. We have for years spent a lot of time discussing religion, politics, even the religion of evolution. My friend was 61. I introduced him to your videos and he watched them several times. He has given me a clear testimony. He was in every sense a hermit. I don’t believe he had any friends other than me. He was very well educated and could build anything. I was always very curious about the events that had led him to where he was. After spending an awful lot of time with my friend I still knew almost none of the unimportant stuff. My friend didn’t have a car so I took him to town 2 or 3 times a week. A couple of hours to spend talking about all sorts of things. My friend told me that he believed he was autistic because he had such a hard time dealing with people. About 5 days ago he came over to borrow a series I have, but I couldn’t find it easily, and I was busy doing unimportant things.His last words to me were “God bless”. Well it’s not unusual to go a week without seeing him. Today I went over… Somehow God let me know on the way over, that my friend had been taken home. The most important thing I could tell the coroner and crew was that he was a Christian. I don’t know about others that may read this. I think people shouldn’t have to ask the unimportant questions. My friend is now home with the Father. I think that’s the only reason I can deal with it. If you have a friend take good care of them, make sure where they’re going. Let them know where you’ll spend eternity and why.
Anyway I just had to get some of this out now, rather than later.

This is a good post; I guess there are lots of “Bobs” out there (preachers kids). I believe that the term “P.K.” is sometimes given to abbreviate the issue of Preachers & their Children.
I note that the Bible is clear when it comes to ministers of the ‘Church’ & their Children;
1 Timothy 3:1-5 This is a true saying, If a man desire the office of a bishop, he desireth a good work. (2) A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behavior, given to hospitality, apt to teach; (3) Not given to wine, no striker, not greedy of filthy lucre; but patient, not a brawler, not covetous; (4) ONE THAT RULETH WELL HIS OWN HOUSE, HAVING HIS CHILDERN IN SUBJECTION WITH ALL GRAVITY; (5) (FOR IF A MAN KNOW NOT HOW TO RULE HIS OWN HOUSE, HOW SHALL HE TAKE CARE OF THE CHURCH OF GOD?)
1 Timothy 3:12 Let the deacons be the husbands of one wife, RULING THEIR CHILDREN AND THEIR OWN HOUSES WELL.
By these verses it seems that God wishes us to be able to manage our own families well ‘FIRST’, before attempting to take positions of authority within the church. I therefore guess by the amount of “Bobs” there are, it would seem as though the “Church” ordains many people away from the will of God and guidance of His Word.
I feel whilst writing this that people might think that I am condemning parents for the actions of their children (I would certainly not wish to do this).
I am only pointing out that God has written into His Word entry requirements for Ministry.
These are NOT requirements for Salvation.
I thank the Lord for His Grace over me and my family; I know I certainly don’t deserve it.
It seems that God is using your time in prison to teach you many things, and I am so grateful that you use this blog to share what you learn so that we can give you some feedback.
