Knee-Mail: A Word Fitly Spoken

From: Kent Hovind
Sent: January 16, 2009
To: God
First read: Proverbs 15:23; 25:11

KH: Thanks, Lord. I needed that and you sent it right on time.
GOD: I always do, Son. I keep telling you I’ve got everything under control and not to worry, but you forget so easily! That’s why I had “fear not” in My Word 365 times. You’ve got one for every day. I also know that you are weak, human, and easily discouraged (Job 23:10; Ps. 1:6, 37:18, 44:21, 94:11, 103:14; Mt 6:8, 32; Rom. 8:27; 1 Cor. 3:20) so I will send a small taste of what is coming once in a while.
Your race is not over yet, and you could still stumble and fall before the finish line (1 Cor. 9:24, 27; Heb. 12:1), but it’s good to see a little of the fruit you are going to reap.
KH: Thanks, Lord, those four letters I got last night were so helpful. I was pretty down. It was my birthday, and I was getting discouraged again. My wife is scheduled to report to prison on Tuesday at noon. She’s terrorized, Lord, and I’m powerless to help her or comfort her. I haven’t seen her or hugged her for 13 months. They are still trying to seize the church ministry property and I was having a mini pity-party like John the Baptist did when he was in prison (Mt. 11:3). He wondered if his ministry had done any good.
I’m sorry, Lord. This has been the hardest test I’ve ever taken, and I was wondering if I was doing any good for Your Kingdom. Then, I got the mail. It’s amazing what a good encouraging word can do. Edee is 84 and writes me every week. What a blessing she has been to me. She writes to lots of other prisoners, too. Please bless her greatly, Lord.
GOD: Oh, I will, Son!
KH: That card from that Russian youth group that has seen my videos made me cry. There were signatures from 48 kids that had their lives changed and their faith in Your Word strengthened. Knowing that they are praying for me is a great help! I have wished a thousand times that I had heard the truth about Your creation when I was a teen. The evolution teaching caused me so many doubts, and for kids raised under communism it’s even worse! Thanks for letting those DVDs change Russian teens’ lives and…thanks for letting me find out about it down here. I doubt they know how much their little word of encouragement meant to me. Please bless them, Lord.
GOD: I will, Son. More than you know.
KH: And Michael’s letter from Canada…it’s dated December 19th. It got held up in the mail room for almost a month, but just arrived when I needed it. He is so excited that his sister got saved and is fired up for You; all because of a few little round pieces of plastic with teaching about Your Word. They are spreading those DVDs all over Canada, Lord. I had no idea. That letter came right on time. Thanks, Lord.
GOD: You are welcome, Son. I’m never late.
KH: I was feeling convicted about having a pity-party, but Aaron’s letter really broke my heart! He had to do a report at school of a modern day hero, and he chose me. Lord, you and I both know that I’m no hero. You told me to “fear not,” but I still fear. The enemy that has come against me is huge! I have no power or might to resist them. I miss my family and ministry and freedom beyond words. I was so encouraged that my bonds have made Aaron more bold (Phil. 1:14). It’s strange, but it really helps.
GOD: Yes, Son, a word fitly spoken is a real blessing. You need to do that more often to others.
KH: I know, Lord, I’m sorry.
GOD: It’s easy to be critical of others. Everyone has flaws and some are really easy to pick out, but most people, especially those in there with you, need a kind word spoken to them. The tongue has great power to hurt or heal (James 3:1-12; Mt. 12:36, 15:11, 18; Prov. 16:27). Use it wisely, Son.
KH: Lord, these letters have shown me again what a word can do. Thanks for letting me serve You in my faltering way. And thanks a lot for letting me get those letters tonight. I’m sorry that I need pumped up often, Lord. I’ll go look for someone to speak a kind word to.
GOD: Great idea, Son. Go sing now. I’ve got your back…and your wife’s and your family’s.

    Hi Kent,

Thanks for your ministry to me over all the years. I think of you often and long for the day God returns you to minister in person to those outside the walls.

  4. Dear Brother Hovind,
365 times! That’s amazing! I looked it up in the concordance, but it’s going to take a lot more work to research out each verse about fear. Maybe I should try one verse for each day of the year. Time & time again the LORD has also told me to fear not! Recently we finished reading an excellent book by Jerry Bridges called ‘Trusting God even when life hurts’. Now, as the LORD would have it, we are going through a book called ‘The Grace Awakening’ by Chuck Swindoll. It’s a lot easier to trust God when a person is focusing on His amazing grace.

God’s timing is awesome. But the exact details of His battle plans are kept secret, & they are mind blowing when He begins to reveal them, because they are usually quite different than what you’d expect.
    Here’s an example:

Many years ago when I was 20 something, a little girl told her mom that she would like to go sit on Jesus’ lap. A couple days later she was hit by a car & she got her wish. It must have been incredibly hard on that family. We all attended the same church, but the congregation was huge, so I didn’t know the family personally; however, because of that incident I wrote a story about what Heaven would be like from a child’s perspective.

It took me years before I had nerve enough to draw the pictures to illustrate it. The way it finally came about was that it was my turn to teach the lesson at a kid’s Bible club type thing & I decided to use the story. I asked everybody involved to pray while I attempted to draw the needed pictures, & the LORD answered their prayers. When I finished the lesson, I tucked it safely away until another time. Over the years I’d pull it out & present it on various occasions.

Well, about 2 months ago in about a 2 week period, 6 different people all somehow connected with various folks in our little congregation, died. All of them were separate incidents. The first one was an airplane mechanic in his early 30s who had just started attending our church with his young family. He was part of a fire crew who operated an aircraft that dropped fire retardant, & the plane crashed while they were on their way to a forest fire in another state. Our whole church grieved. The following week one of the other ones that the LORD took home, was a 21 year old who lived behind our church. He was in a roll-over, & the vehicle was carrying loose auto parts, & one of those hit him in the head.

This past week I decided to pull out the story & see if I could somehow make the pictures small enough that I could put it in a book form for the young family. My son (who happens to be home from college this week) took pictures of the drawings, & that worked. I also put it up on w-rocs so that when they get older, if they look for it on line, it will be there for them, LORD willing..
    http://www.w-rocs.org/homeschool_material/A_CHILDS_STORY_ABOUT_HEAVEN.pdf

I was also wishing that I could somehow get the story to the 21 year old’s sister. But I didn’t know that family. Well, the LORD had a mind blowing idea about how to do it, even though it seemed to be totally un-related.

Do you remember a while back that I mentioned that the Jewish Messianic Congregation that I also belong to, was looking for a Torah Scroll? The LORD provided one! It’s 150 years old. I wanted to get some pictures of it to hang up in our upcoming Creation Science Booth. Saturday, totally unexpected, the Leader of the Messianic Congregation sent it home with me. So then I asked my Alberton Pastor if I could show it to the Alberton church. Then on Sunday, while I was presenting it, I noticed a lady sitting at the back of the church that I didn’t ever remember seeing before at church, & I had no idea who she was…

After the church service, some of the people in the community & several of the people from our church had a tree planting ceremony as a memorial to those who have died in recent months.{There have been several others besides the above 6.) And then they had a barbeque. I ended up going to the barbeque because I was afraid somebody would run over the smaller trees, so I went & got some fence posts from home to place in front of them. In the process I ended up talking to somebody who persuaded me to go to the barbeque. At the Barbeque, the lady who had been sitting at the back of the church, started talking to me, telling me all about her son (he was the 21 year old.). The end result was that I was able to give her a copy of the story for both her & her daughter.[It’s amazing how the LORD does things!] These families could really use your prayers.

And here’s a different subject: I was finally able to get a copy of your new book titled ‘Help! I’m Being Taught Evolution In My Earth Science Class!’ Brother Hovind, your presentation is exactly what I would be teaching my students if I was still teaching school. It’s right on! It’s an awesome Creation Science textbook for students! It’s the best layout I’ve ever seen!!!!!!! It would also be an awesome blessing if CSE could make a live presentation of it & put it up on line. You guys seriously need to consider doing that! Brother Hovind, didn’t you say that bullets should never be rationed when there’s a war going on?

    Hi Brother and Sister Hovind

Thanks for the regular updates on the site. We follow your situation as much as we can.

We’re still praying for you and your family. What a blessed hope and reward you will receive one day! Thanks for the great impact your ministry has made in so many lives all across the world, mine included. I pray that the Lord will have mercy on those who impose this cruel and unnecessary punishment on you all. The scoffers at God’s word forget that man’s judgment is hard, but the Lord’s judgment is unbearable. Be strong in the Lord and know that if God is for you, who can be against you?

We’re still giving out copies of your DVD’s to whoever is willing to receive it.

    God bless from the UK

  6. for Jesus' name: Phillip-George (c)1974 says:

    Brother Kent,
I’ve said this before in other ways but one of the enormous blessings to me of your ministry was/ is your eclecticism. You’ve read from/ drawn from such a wide variety of sources. As I said you got me very interested in the antediluvian hyperbaric atmosphere. I finally got into the state library a couple of weeks ago to look up this journal:-

Probing the Limits of Human Deep Diving [and Discussion]
    P. B. Bennett, Melissa McLeod, Z. Torok and D. H. Elliott
Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society of London. Series B, Biological Sciences, Vol. 304,
    Available on line through JSTOR {Journal Storage}

about deep diving experiments and on page 109 there appear these paragraphs:-

Later in 1970 the COMEX company extended these methods with two men in a dive called Physalie V. This used an exponential compression profile with stages of 3 d 83 min to reach 520 m (1706ft) for 77 min, and was followed in 1972 by Physalie VI with compression in 7 d 8 h to 610 m (2001ft) for 80 min (Fructus 1972). A longer time of 50 h was spent at 610 m in the final oxygen-helium COMEX 1974 dive (Rostain et al. 1976; Fructus et al. 1976)
In the latter dive, two men were compressed in 10 d 21 h and for the first time stayed for 50 h at this depth, much more than the previous brief minutes. Tremors were present and increased by 160-190%. E.e.g. changes, with dramatic 2000-4000% increases in θ-activity were seen from the anterior brain and 500-1000% in the middle regions. Fatigue and ‘microsleep’ also occurred, with suppression of sleep stages 3 and 4, vivid dreams and out-of-body experiences.

    Unquote:

\It stretches credulity to beyond its elastic limits that sceptics could be so oblivious to the supernatural. In a weighty tome about deep dive profiles and physiology just five words are dedicated to an inference of the supernatural substance of man ” AND OUT OF BODY EXPERIENCES ”
Sceptics and other fools routinely want proof of the supernatural. Yet when something like spontaneous human combustion or out of body experiences are cogently reported on they sniff and shuffle. They are fools because they are fools.

Brother Kent, experiments with both hyperbaric chamber dry diving and aquatic wet diving both hint at what the antediluvian world was or could have been like. In air diving one rapidly encounters nitrogen narcosis, a feeling of euphoria maybe mixed with disinhibition and grandeur. Before one gets to oxygen toxicity there can be heightened awareness, more energy and a sense of well being. With just the right mixes of gases and pressures and other conditions it is not hard to imagine something of the taste of heaven on earth. Less or no disease, less fatigue, better concentration, a sense of well being, more energy, with heightened senses.

The sizes of eggs and spiracle breathing insects, mega flora and fauna all hint at what paradise could have looked like. Deep diving experiments are just one affirmation among many, the Holy Bible, of course, being the Chief among many.

there is a bumper bar/ fender sticker about the Return of Jesus, that is crudely put: “Jesus is coming and boy is He pissed”. The banality is actually the profanity, with the profundity of the reality detracted from. Wrath shall be poured out, but not with water this time. How long Lord?

in today’s news, India casts off more of those repressive shackles of Colonialism by legislating for homosexuality and California grapples with its bankruptcy. Isn’t there one common thread between those two stories?

cheers from Australia, here, there, or in the air; and with 365 more reasons to celebrate

  7. baycommander says:

    Dear Dr. Hovind,
There is a really good article by Tom Mullen on the Campaign for Liberty site you might like and want to comment on. The need for actual property ownership and the fact that it all belongs to God is what your case is all about. I’m speaking at our county’s TEA Party today and my theme is “When Have I Said No?” So many decisions will have to be individual ones made with the counsel of family and church. I am again grateful for your diaries which show triumph-a “more than conquering”-in the face of what many would consider tragedy. In Christ, Kathy for the Jaggers Family
