KH: Good morning, Lord
GOD: Good morning, Son.
KH: Lord, is this almost over? What are You doing with me here?
GOD: Oh, Son! It’s all fine. I’ve got you in reserve. Let’s go for a walk. General John Bell Hood can explain it to you…
OK, Son, that’s General Hood under that shade tree. Go talk to him, and listen carefully to what he says. It will help you.
KH: OK, Lord…Excuse me, Sir. May I ask you some questions?
General Hood (GH): Sure. How can I help?
KH: Well, it sounds like there is quite a war going on all around us, but you and your men are just lying around and fixing breakfast. Can you explain what is happening?
GH: Sure. The Yankees have been gathering over east of us by the thousands and trying to break through our lines. General Lee chose this little town of Sharpsburg (Sept. 17, 1862) to take our stand. Most of the Yanks are on the other side of Antietam Creek.
KH: It looks to me like there are a bunch of them over here, too!
GH: Yes, that’s true. My boys fought a hard fight last night; we are resting now. We are in reserve. General Jackson will call for us when he needs us.
KH: Would that be Stonewall Jackson?
GH: That’s the one. My men all love him and trust him with their lives – literally!
KH: So what’s that old building up on the hill?
GH: They call it the Dunker Church. I hear they dunk people under the water after they get saved.
KH: That’s what the Bible says is supposed to happen (Acts 8:37). Anyway, it sounds like a lot of shooting is going on over there on the other side of the hill. Shouldn’t you be helping out?
GH: General Stark’s boys are getting hammered pretty hard by a bunch of Yanks from Wisconsin, but they are holding the line. The Yanks want this high ground around the church. It’s our job to keep em off. There’s a lot more of them than there is of us, but we won’t run when it’s our turn to fight. A couple days ago we held off about 12,000 Yanks as they tried to get through Fox’s Gap. They finally made it, but we made ‘em pay a dear price! Why, General Lee even let me off house arrest for that battle.
KH: What had you been arrested for?
GH: Oh, I had a little spat with another general about some Yankee wagons we captured at Second Bull Run. I’m from Kentucky, and I command a rough bunch of boys called the Texas Brigade. We tend to get a little bull headed from time to time. Anyway, back to yer question. I’d love to be over there helping out in battle! Me and my boys are always itchin’ fer a fight with Yanks. But, we are really tired and hungry right now. General Jackson told me to bring my boys back here for a rest and breakfast. He knows what is best. It’s his job to keep an eye on the bigger picture. I just go where he tells me and do what I’m told.
KH: That’s a good way to do things.
GH: That’s the way it has to be in the army. It would be chaos any other way.
KH: I guess you are right. My Commander has me “in reserve” right now, too. I don’t like it, but I trust Him.
GH: While yer in reserve, that doesn’t mean it is time to get lazy! No sir! That’s the time to rest, study, pray, and keep yer weapons clean and sharp. General Jackson can march his troops further in a day than any other general in either army. He knows the secret.
KH: What is that?
GH: Yer not a Yankee spy, are ya?
KH: No sir. I’m Norwegian.
GH: Nor what?
KH: Never mind. I’m not a spy.
GH: Good. Well he makes his men stop and rest every hour fer five minutes. You can’t just stop and stand around or sit down. No sir! You have to put yer head on the ground fer five minutes. It does wonders fer the body!
KH: I did that in Boy Scouts on long hikes too.
GH: What’s a Boy Scout?
KH: Never mind, they won’t be created for awhile.
GH: Anyway, a good commander knows his men have to rest once in awhile. Why, the good Lord gave His people a day of rest every week and a year of rest every 7 years (Ex 23:10, Lev. 25:1-7). He sometimes has to make us lie down in green pastures (Ps. 23:2) fer our own good. Why, fellers like me would work ourselves to death if the general didn’t make us take a break once in a while. We’ll get time to fight. Matter-o-fact, here comes General Jackson now. I bet he’s got orders fer us to get movin’ again. I need to go now.
KH: Ok, thanks for your time.
GOD: Let’s go home, Son…Does that help?
KH: Yes, Lord. I really enjoy traveling and preaching about Yer, I mean Your creation. I miss my freedom and family more than words can ever explain, but I trust you as my commanding general to know when to make me rest and lie down. I feel pretty rested, Lord. Can I go back into the fight yet?
GOD: Now, Son, just because you feel ready doesn’t mean it’s the right time for Me to send you in. Being “in reserve” is tough. I know. Elijah thought he was the only one left serving Me and I couldn’t do the job without him, but I had 7,000 in reserve (1 Kings 19:18; Rom 11:4). I always keep an eye on the bigger picture. I will win this war, Son. Relax. Go get ready for the ball game this afternoon. You are pitching. I’ve got yer back.

The General Hood article is tremendous! It really helped me. I was a teacher in various Christian schools for many years, but I was finally forced (by need for more income) to seek employment in secular work. HOW I MISS TEACHING THE BIBLE, ENGLISH GRAMMAR, LITERATUE, AND HISTORY IN A CHRISTIAN ENVIRONMENT!!! Maybe, someday (I’m praying and seeking), God will see fit to allow me to be a teacher again. Hey bro. Hovind here’s the article admitting that Ida, the cat/lemur thing really couldn’t be our relative. It only took the evolutionist a year to admit he was wrong. It doesn’t undo all the damage their false claim did. Maybe they’ll get it out of the text books here in the next 50 yrs. or so. It’s odd that everyone with common sense realized this the day they made their claim. I hope you are doing well. I’m very pleased that Jo was released and I pray you are soon to follow.

Thank you so much for the inspiring material you’ve published. My children and I have been working through your college course as part of our devotions most mornings. I just found your blog, and thought it was so neat that the Lord’s sending along some helpers like General Hood to help give answers and encouragement. He has a whole library of saints available to be called on. I’m sure the cloud of witnesses (Heb 12:1)are super encouraged as they watch and cheer you on as you run with patience the race that is set before you.

Br. Kent, there are a few books I’d like you to write if you get the time.
One book on political prisoners based on the lives of Moses, Daniel, Joseph etc. and their parallels with modern political figures such as Ghandi, Aung San Suu Kyi, Dalai Lama, Nelson Mandela etc.. Having to wait over a year for a transcript of your own trial and having been diesel therapied around the country you must know quite a bit about political imprisonment now.
Point I’d like to draw your attention to is this. Pharaoh didn’t understand that he or his progeny weren’t the most important men in the country anymore. He didn’t quite learn the concept that God was not with Egypt to bless them through his leadership of the situation. The writing was on the Wall, not quite in the same way as in Daniel’s day, but the edicts were written against them none the less.

Thank You for opening up a whole new world of Science for me. I can remember my first struggles with Evolution teachings in a ‘Christian’ High School. That was many years ago–The DVD’s and books I’ve purchased from CSE are the best I’ve found yet. It’s difficult to find material that is interesting enough to hold the attention of kids and adults alike. I Praise the Lord for His gracious leading in your ministry all these many years.
It is hard many times to understand the way in which Our Father God leads us, and at times it seems trite (spelling?)to say we’ll understand it all by and by–even though we know we will. I try to keep in mind that He is able to direct my life to His Glory. That alone is a pretty amazing mirical by itself! Whatever it is, if it glorifies Him it’s not only worth it but it’s better than anything else we could be doing. Seems impossible to understand doesn’t it?!
Just want to say I’m sure sorry John the Revelator was banished to Patmos but we are greatly blessed by the words he penned while there. I’m not saying anyone of us is going to have a John the Revelator experience, just that there is no such thing as wasted time with God. Whatever He plans for you and yours I know it is going to be amazing, incredible and faith building.
As for myself, I am a Seventh Day Sabbath keeping born again Christian. I praise Jesus Christ that not one thing can be done to add to the creation and salvation of us as His redeemed children. The more I read/watch/listen to CSE materials the more convicted I am that Jesus is Lord of the Sabbath. He knew when He placed the Sabbath right at the center of His Ten Commandments (The Law of Love) and made it the longest commandment in terms of words that looking down to Revelation and these End Times–we would need to remember a literal SIX day creation. We would need to know HE created the world, HE created us, HE did it without lifting a finger, HE did it in SIX days and HE stamped it with His Name when He sanctified the seventh day and made it Holy. When we rest on the Sabbath we rest with our God in His own works recognizing that He has done it all and we can do nothing without Him. To say that we could do one thing to improve on what God has done for us would be treason!! We can only follow Him step by step as He walked it here on this earth–and follow Him all the way to Eternal Life in Him !! His sheep know Him and hear His voice, right?!
I like it better in the King James but here it is in the Holman Study Bible: Here is the endurance of the saints, who keep the commandments of God and the faith in Jesus. KJV reads: Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus. The commandments were intended to be kept in Spirit and in Truth. No man can keep them in Spirit or in truth. Legalism has it’s own reward, “the wages of sin is death” In Spirit and in Truth through the power of God however we can do what Nicodemus did not understand–we can be born again and bear good fruits because we are born of God and no longer have the need to try to change our own spots!!! “Learn of Me for my yoke is not heavy and my burden is light”
Kent Hovind I know that we are brothers and sisters in Christ!! It gives me joy to see you following your Master so closely. If we don’t meet here on this earth no big deal. There will be all of eternity for us to meet all of our brothers and sisters. Meanwhile I pray that the Lord be glorified and place you right back in the arms of your loved ones to His Honor. I’m thinking that just maybe since the Ministry is busy purchasing the property in a manner acceptible to the courts they can release you, after all, restitution is being made and you are “Rehabilitated”, right ?!!!! I am seemingly, hopelessly, unemployed in Michigan – married 16 years this coming November; and father of 5, ages 15 to 4(truly born again for only 9 years and 5 months)!
Satan, and other “professing Christians”, love to tell me DAILY that I am worse than an infidel for not providing for my family; in accordance with the verse in 1 Timothy 5:8 that reads “But if any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.” – because we are obviously FORCED to live “off the state”.
In researching that verse, and studying it out; the GREEK verb used for provide is “pronoeō” – which according to a lexicon means: 1) to perceive before, foresee 2) to provide, think of beforehand a) to provide for one b) to take thought for, care for a thing.
Corrupted mainstream Baptist Americana; and all sorts of other compromised Christians who are not incarcerated, but rather are FREE; are merely still sitting in unwise judgment over my efforts(and first of all, Kent Hovind’s efforts) I fear.
Our efforts, to WARN and ALERT professing Christians to the evil America has suffered, and teach accurate church history and bloodshed, at the hands of other professing Christians; as well as the foreseeable dangers we are still facing still being governed by so many professing Christian government officials, media personalities, and clergy is still a WORTHY WORK in my estimation – whether it attracts a “love offering” in exchange for a sincere effort of a driven evangelist to teach or preach – or it gets repeatedly mocked, ridiculed, or ignored.
I believe the passage in 1 Timothy 5, specifically the verb used in reference to “providing”, has more to do with a man being on the lookout for Satan’s “fiery darts” being launched against his family by the wicked, and planning ahead; rather than just earning a paycheck by rote methods through perhaps fruitless secular employment and “go along” in order to “get along” ASHAMED American convenient Christianity where we choose NOT to witness to our own family members and co-workers; yet choosing to remaining VERY busy in entertaining ourselves in this life with the money we earn(letting our secular accomplishments, conservative politics, and LARGE church buildings & congregations be our witness), rather than remaining busy in the things of the LORD(Luke 19:13).
Kent Hovind has been placed on the sidelines – and he is restless to fight! I have been removed from secular employment, and have been afforded an opportunity to study, be involved in, and watch our nation’s political system persist in spreading unthinkable lies and spread nets of deceit for weak and unlearned baby Christians…and I think God has a PURPOSE and a PLAN in ALL of these events; despite the negative criticisms and perpetually mockery and ridicule launched at we who are of an attentive Spirit – which only focuses on Kent’s conviction, and the circumstances of my welfare status.
Again – in ALL of this – THINK and remember how God’s servants, prophets, messengers, and his own Son have ALWAYS been received with absolute disdain by the majority; with accusations of hypocrisy and blasphemy winning over the democratic audience in its presence.
Kent is perhaps in a more structured and certain environment than I am, though unpleasant and much more restricted; I am in a very uncertain environment where I live in perpetual doubt that I am “in the center of God’s will”for my life, and I do not know where my family’s next meal is coming from – despite my efforts.
But Kent and I are still “stumping for the Lord”, still determined to do so in obligated gratitude for having saved us from our very own un-loveable selves – and we are still pressing on “by faith”, that His promises are TRUE, and His providence will forever remain unchallenged no matter what America suffers – or we continue to suffer!
Jesus offered no wages, no job security, no retirement plan, and no pleasant circumstances as He called His disciples; only food and raiment were offered to us in this life! Have you humbly learned to “be ye content with such things as ye have”(Hebrews 13:5)?
Kent Hovind and I are learning this lesson on a daily basis – Let God do His thing! Who are we to question His methods of governing this universe?

What a lovely post, it did raise thoughts in my mind about the American civil war; short of knowing that it did happen and that the Yanks from the north were credited as being the winning side, I know virtually nothing.
Asking out of ignorance, having first been enlightened by yourself as to the strong Christian faith of General John Bell Hood…
Would it not have been the case that there were strong Christians on the Yankee side too?
It is said that History is written by the victorious, I’m guessing therefore that you might have a southern insight about the war (reasons, causes & motivations) that differ from the prevailing northern view. If so it might be interesting to read should you feel inclined to write about it.
Was the issue of slavery the motivation for war?

I feel inclined to note an appreciation of your/General John Bell Hood’s acknowledgement of the Sabbath being GIVEN by God to His people.
From the very beginning it was Gods desire to institutionalise rest AFTER work.
Genesis 2:3 And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it:
Exodus 16:29 See, for that the LORD hath GIVEN you the Sabbath.
Exodus 20:8 Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.
And contrasting beautifully in the new testament
Mark 2:27 And he said unto them, The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath:
Colossians 2:16 Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of a holy day, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:
I was stopped in the street by a couple of Mormons the other week, they started trying to tell me about their doctrine & their prophet etc.
I asked them, “Tell me, which day of the week is the Sabbath day?”.
They replied, “Sunday”, acknowledging that Sunday was the First Day of the week.
I asked them where in the Bible it said that the Sabbath was on the First Day. They tried to say that it used to be on the Seventh in the Old Testament, but in the New, God Changed it to the First Day; “It says, the Disciples met together on the First Day”. Also their prophet said that the Sabbath day was Sunday too so that was enough.
I would not look at anybody to judge them as to whether they kept the Sabbath or not. Exodus 20:8 (Ten Commandments) says that I should “Remember the Sabbath”, and I am guilty of forgetting it from time to time, so who am I to judge others.
My “hobby horse” in this respect is only to point out the pervasive doctrine that says at some point God changed his mind about the Seventh Day Sabbath and opted for the First Day. BUT in His wisdom He decided to say nothing about it through scripture rather he would send this message through other means such as the Catholic Church and as I am also now informed a Mormon prophet.
Personally I don’t buy it.
