Dear Mrs. Zimanyine,
About two months ago, I got your letter. You sent it to encourage me while I’m in prison. The Supreme Court had just declined to hear my case without reason. I was indeed disappointed, discouraged, and disillusioned with our American “Justice System.”
Your letter did more to help me keep going and to look at this from a new perspective than I can ever explain. When I learned that you are the one heading up the massive Hungarian translation project of putting the entire Creation Seminar into Hungarian, not only free of charge, but also donating money to that project, as well as to our “save the property” campaign—all on your meager widow’s income, I was shamed into silence.
I know that your husband spent ten years in Siberian prison camps for just writing Stalin a letter about the Lord! Seeing you keep on serving the Lord even after he died, and seeing your zeal to get the creation materials to your Hungarian people made me weep for shame at my Elijah and Jonah attitude of self pity for my unjust incarceration.
Truly, you are one of God’s choicest servants! You and your husband suffered so much for the Lord, yet, you remain faithful! I’m humbled and grateful that you would write to encourage me in my prison which is a paradise compared to Stalin’s Gulag in Siberia! Wow! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
In my seminar, I point out that Stalin was raised in a Christian school, but read Darwin’s book and became an atheist. So much suffering has come to this earth because of the evolution theory. You have seen much of it in a very personal way. I pray that you will not be weary in well doing, but will continue joyfully serving the Lord until He calls us home. I also pray that people will send you money to help you get the creation series spread all over the Hungarian speaking world. I am even praying that God will provide for them to be televised on Hungarian television stations.
We are filing more papers this week to again try to overturn our case and set me free. Should God miraculously provide this release, I would be honored beyond words to come preach in your country and meet you personally. Thank you for your letter. The Lord used it to encourage me more than you will ever know.

What an encouraging letter in response to an encouraging letter. We are grateful that there are more legal avenues for you to pursue and pray for the Lord to grant temporal success as He has already provided for VICTORY eternally in you and your brothers and sisters. brother Kent, just flicking thru the easter/ Passover/ Pesach weekend newspapers and seeing the usual smattering of religious articles in the generally secular newspapers I came across this quote
“Perhaps all of this life is no more than a long preparation for the leaving of it” [John Banville]
I don’t think it is an unreasonable thought.
In your own seminars you talk about the dash between two dates.
I don’t think I am alone in believing that you were not entirely prepared for or expecting the “outcome” you encountered in your dealing with the heathens.
It is exactly this point over which many of “us”, I believe, fretted. A lot of people who have written over these years now, have poured out a certain amount of their own angst.
Easter [someone already wants to critcize me for the use of what were originally pagan names] does cause a few people to reflect.
God the inventor, designer, creator of DNA/ language and the colour patterns in sunsets, has promised a “day of vengeance/ a day of wrath”.
Those under the altar have themselves said, how much longer?
For those of us who believe there is blood; the evidence of the love and mercy of God. For all of the pain, shame and injustice you have suffered, I am sure you can give thanks to Him who can empathize more perfectly than any other. He’s been there.

after these years I now feel I have a certain modicum of right to address you directly; in the presence of such good company.
One of the many reasons I persisted in posting on this forum, was nothing more than your persistent entertainment. As simple as that! Writers write, entertainers entertain. In an interview with Sir Anthony Hopkins I believe I heard him say that he would do the telephone directory if he were asked to. The man loves his job!
What more is there to it.
People who get inspired to write will grab any piece of paper they can find in the middle of the night to capture the thought. They can’t sleep until some thoughts get their expression in prose.
Jules Verne, I contend, helped to create the Perfect English Gentleman. The idea of a French writer creating an English Gentleman is too rich for a short post! Phileas Fogg of the prestigious Reform Club. Professor Lindebrook of the Royal Society of Edinburgh.
The Royal Society of London’s Latin motto happens to be “Nullius in verba” – “take no-one’s word for it”. [loosely]
A few nights ago I chanced upon a copy of the 1959 James Mason movie version of “Journey to the Center of the Earth”. The film really is a classic; it was a childhood love of mine and still is. The internet being what it is it took just a few minutes tonight to get the screenplay transcript. Here are a few words from it. Quoting Professor Lindenbrook:

Unquote. Brother Kent, I’d rather publish on this blog than get a regular column in the NewYork Times, London’s “The Times”, The Washington Post, etc. etc.
Brother Kent, I’d rather shake your hand through a set of bars than dine with any sitting President of whom I am today aware.
The big newspapers are all dirtied from the propagation of the most easily refuted junk science, morally illiterate, philosophically bankrupt, preposterous hypothetical conjectures. Undoubtedly you have been laughing your way through much of the global warming, Anthropogenic Climate Change nonsensicals. If Scientific America offered me the cover article I’d decline. I wouldn’t want my name associated with it. As for today’s University of East Anglia Climate Research Unit? Ah, I better not..

It is encouraging to be in contact with other brethren who have suffered for the sake of the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.
